The best article IMHO was at www.3dcenter.org (german). They clearly stated out that this is not only a gamer card.
Unfortunately, good honest sites like 3dcenter are a rare breed.
Another thing which I haven't liked to see was, for example, that the Parhelia's TMUs (Texture Mapping Units) are only able to filter bilinear. You need two of them for Trilinear filtering...
Don't really understand your point. I think we advertised for 4 tmu's where each tmu will handle a single layer texture and then have 2 tmu's handle a dual layered texture when in tri-linear filtering.
Theoretically, you only need 1 tmu to do tri-linear filtering. It's slow but it can still be done.
