I think the equalization of 4xAA of ATI to 12xAA of nV is not really correct. Neither comparing the speed this way.

The rotated grid structure of ATI's AA provides good results (so, better than ordinary ordered one) only with edges of horizontal and vertical directions, but not with diagonal ones (with 4xAA of nV the case is the opposite). The 12xAA of nV not only provides good result with both horizontal/vertical and diagonal edges, it also nicely reduces interferences in case of many thin objects near to each other, etc.

Yes, in terms of EER is 4x RG clearly better than 12x from NV. Also, NVs 8xS is better than 12x.
