Is guess as long as they're not making any money off of it Apple might leave them alone...
But then again, that didn't stop them from harassing skinning sites (!) or the FairPlay folks.
I guess it's just a matter of time before the attorneys get around to business.

what right would apple have to sue over PearPC?
it is NOT a Mac emulator..
just a PowerPC emulator.. PPC is not apple... it's IBM and Motorola, etc..
i'm actually interested to see if it'll boot the PPC version of BeOS..

I am sure that in order to run Mac OS X, PearPC must emulate certain proprietary Apple hardware components.
In any case, the legal onus is on the user who copies the MacOS ROM and installs Mac OS X on a non-Apple-branded computer.
By enabling users to violate the End User License Agreement, PearPC violates the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA).
Let's face it, if Apple wants to sue, legitimately or not, the PearPC folks don't have the legal resources to defend themselves.
The ball is in Apple Legal's court now.

Meiner Meinung nach ist das aus wirtschaftlichen Gesichtspunkten von Apple,Motorola oder IBM|s Warte aus absolut unvermeidlich. In Anbetracht der Tatsache das besagter Emulator schon in zweiter Version erschienen, einen erheblichen Sprung nach vorne gewagt und geschafft hat duerfte diese Entwicklung aus Unternehmenssicht als potentielle Bedrohung aufgefasst und als solche moeglichst im Keim erstickt zu werden.
