Ich muss morgen einen kurzen Vortrag Englisch halten, ein bischen über das Buch selbst hab ich jetzt schon geschrieben. Könntet ihr euch das mal anschauen und Fehler berichtigen?? Hab versucht die Sprache möglichst einfach zu halten, sodass man es beim Vortrag leichter versteht:
I’ll tell you something about this book. (Buch hochhalten)
It is called “About a boy” and written by Nick Hornby.
This cover is the original book cover, but after the film version was made they changed into the new cover on which you can see Hugh Grand (richtig geschrieben?).
The novel “about a boy” is actually about two boys. Will and Marcus.
Will is a 36-year-old bachelor (Jungeselle, anderes Wort für single).
And Marcus is a 12-year-old eccentric and introverted boy with a mother, who tries to kill herself (sometimes).
Will never had to work in his life cause his father made a Christmas-song hit.
So Will has a lot of spare time.
His main occupation is searching for a woman.
And after a pleasant relationship with a single parent mother, Will decides to attend a single parent group as a way to pick up women.
For this he invents a 2-year-old son called Ned.
At a single parents meeting he gets to know Marcus and a strange friendship develops
Will helps Marcus to be a normal boy, he buys him cool, new shoes and introduces him to the Music of Nirvana.
And Marcus teaches Will how to take responsibility for other people.
In the course of the story Marcus makes friends with Ellie, she is a tough, trouble making and Kurt Cobain T-Shirt wearing girl. And she’s a bit older than Marcus.
Marcus also spends some time with his father.
Meanwhile Will starts going out with a single mum called Rachel who has a son about the age as Marcus.
In the end Marcus develops and becomes a normal kid.
Will also develops and becomes more like an adult, he learned how to take responsibility and wants to marry Rachel.
So both of them have started to behave according to their age.
