Of course, the reason I'm bringing all this up is because Doom 3, widely anticipated for it's pitch black hallways and plastic monsters, is almost out! For those that don't know, players will take the role of a space marine on a planet with angry monsters, snooty scientists, and exciting darkness. Your mission objective is to prove that you have the fastest video card possible and defeat Hell's evil minions who won't shell out five-hundred bucks for a ten percent performance boost that yields roughly five more frames per second and a little spout on their computer that serves up fresh maple syrup.

Ja, sehr treffend. :D

Irgendwie werden die Verhältnisse schon deutlich, wenn man sich nur mal den VRAM-Speicherbedarf von D3 vor Augen führt: andere Spiele trauen sich atm im Bestfall gerade mal, mehr als 128 MiB ohne AA/AF zu nutzen, bei D3 müssen es 512 MiB sein, damit man schon ohne AA/AF die ganze Bildqualität in ordentlicher Geschwindigkeit sehen darf.

As previously mentioned, "Doom 3" is a very dark game. Despite the fact that it's the future and you're in a highly futuristic industrial complex that manufactures highly technological machinery, the only portable source of light you can find is a 99-cent K-Mart flashlight which spent the last week repeatedly falling off the back of a pickup truck. One of this game's most awesome gameplay features is the flashlight juggling physics which revolve around constantly switching your flashlight for a gun or your gun for a flashlight. Remember that paragraph I wrote above about balanced gameplay? Well the flashlight juggling physics fall into that description as well; if you've got the flashlight then you are defenseless but can see what's killing you, and if you have a gun then you can defend yourself but you can't see what's killing you.

Es gibt einen Ducttape Mod fuer die Shotgun und das Machinegun. Hab's allerdings nicht getestet weil mich das mit der Flashlight nie wirklich gestoert hat.

Also Doom 3 kann wohl auch die CPU Temperatur erkennen.
Gerade bin ich schön am Zocken dann kommt: Warning! Main reactor temperature is exceeding save level.
Und genau als der Satz zu ende war, Bluescreen! CPU überhizt :ugly:
