I saw this power supply unit at geizhals.at for 60+ € .
This looks like a fair price for a PSU with 400W.

So,the question is,can somebody tell me is this really a good PSU and what do experiences in practice look like ? =)

The power supply itself is quite good, but it does not contribute to case ventilation. Therefore some additional case fans have to be bought to support case ventilation. Apart from that, the power supply seems to get quite warm (if not to say hot), which can be explained by the minimal ventilation in order to operate quietly.

The power supplies from Tagan seem to aid at leat a little bit in case ventilation but are also a bit louder (from what I've heard). If ultimate silence is not needed, Antec PSUs deliver good voltages but are more expensive.

I recommend using PSUs with 120mm fans, such as FSP (Fortron/Source) or Seasonic.

@huha

Thx for your answer. =)

Which PSU would you recomend me??

And what is with Enermax??
I heard that they produce good PSUs.

I had the "be quiet Blackline Titanium 400W" and it has become to hot. The Tagan, Enermax or Fortron are cooler and so better.

Links but in German:

Tagan:

Fotron:

Enermax:

Edit: I have two Enermax 365 FMA and they make no Problems.

For I do not know your system, recommending a PSU is not very easy. If you could post your system details (e.g. CPU, Mainboard, GPU, HDDs etc.), your case and the number and position of system cooling fans, this would be much easier.

Also: Is nearly silent/inaudible operation important for you or can you live with quiet PSUs?

The beQuiet-Power-Supplies are all qualitatively high-quality and convince with very stable voltages, really low noise generation and a very good and comfortable warranty by beQuiet. (48h-suburb exchange within the first 2 years and one more year "normally" warranty).

BeQuiet guarantees stable voltages with a maximum deviation of 5% on 3,3V, the 5V and 12V.

However you must consider, that, because of its silence, the power supply produces a very low air flow, just to cool itself but not to air out the rest of the computercase.
-so you must take care, that there is an additional exhaust in your case to prevent overheating and damages at your hardware.
(one or two additional fans at the backside of the case should suffice, dependent on the waste heat of your components).

An alternative could be a power supply with a 120mm-fan inside or, if you don't need ultra-silence but just a pleasently quiet psu you could think about enermax or chieftec
_______

should suffice, if I may correct you ;)

I second that.

FSP produce good PSUs w/ 120mm fans; however, Seasonic does better but can not be bought that easily.

This PSU is for my brother's machine.

P4 (prescott) 2.8GHz
512MB (DualChannel) 200MHz DDR
MSI r9800pro
1 HD 80GB
1 CD-RW
Abit IC7

I told him, that he needs to buy a poweful PSU for that thirsty Prescott.
But i'm not sure which one is the best for the money.

Which Case does he have? How many case fans are installed and where?

The FSP 350-60PN is quite a good power supply. It costs about 50 E, has 350 Watts (which should suffice) and a temperature controlled 120mm fan. It is also quite quiet.
If you can spend a bit more money, I'd recommend the Antec True380. This PSU has very stable voltages and lots of features (SATA connectors, Molex plug on the back to operate components outside the PC case, temperature controlled fan connectors et cetera) and costs about 70 E.

@huha

I already made my decision,it's an Tagan TG480-u01.

It is powerful enough for later upgrades. :D

350W sollten dafür ausreichen, wenn es aus einem qualitativ hochwertigem NT kommt, wie z.B. einem Fortron oder Seasonic, falls du sowas bekommen kannst ;)
