Conclusion:
... In almost all of our tests the board was scoring higher than the Intel 915 based board. Where the Asus board did fall behind was, as expected, in the memory tests due to the Intel based board using DDR2. This performance difference didn't however translate into anything significant in real world usage (which is the all important result) and we were therefore extremely happy with the performance of the P5RD1-V. Another highlight of the board is the ULi southbridge, rather than use ATI's own southbridge Asus changed to the feature packed ULi model and we also have no complaints with this decision. The performance of all SB connected devices was excellent and the drivers seem completely stable. Speaking of stability, the P5RD1-V gave us no concerns in this department. We really hammered it in terms of demanding applications and the board performed flawlessly throughout.
A truly great mainstream board from Asus, so much so that had it featured 1066fsb support it would be in contention for being used in the Driverheaven main Intel test system...
