Hallo,

sind die neuen Venice-Athlons eigentlich auch noch (per BIOS-Update) mit Nforce3 250 kompatibel?

Die Venice's werden wohl kaum den NF4 Benutzern etc. vorbehalten werden, wäre 1. :| und 2. Verkaufszahlen - tötend ;)

Es sollte da doch da Probleme mit E-Stepping & Nforce-Chipsätzen geben, die aber zumindest bei der 4-er Reihe per BIOS-Update überwunden werden können, deswegen auch meine Frage oben.

probleme sind mir nicht bekannt, die venice cores laufen meistens sogar ohne biosupdate auf den boards.

Hier mal ein Auszug aus einer entsprechenden News:

"Now many people may not know that a lot of nForce 3/4 motherboards will have problems with these new Athlon 64's [Venice] due to thermal regulation protection problems that's makes the new processors incompatible with at least some of the nForce 3/4 motherboards out there. Now some motherboard companies have already released a BIOS update to fix this problem for their nForce 3/4 motherboards. VIA KT800 and KT890 motherboards are not effected by this problem.

With That said, all current 939 motherboards will need a bios update before installing this new processor because the CPUID in this processor was changed to 00020FF0h from the previous 00010FF0h, thus is the reason why all current 939 motherboards will need to have a BIOS update to take advantage of this processor."
