Zitat:

The list of major changes to OpenSourceMark Beta 8 over Beta 7a are as follows:

* Completely revamped interface.
* New Mobile Tests.
* Completely redesigned mobile test class structure.
* New Thin Client test suite.
* Full HTML documentation available via the "Help" button.
* Performance Vector scoring.
* A number of new tests have been added including:
** "AlphaBlending"
** "AlphaDots"
** "Lame MP3 Encode"
** "MontogomeryMultiplier"
** "SHA-1"
** "SHA-256"
** "SSE3"
** "Ogg Vorbis Encode"
* nBody and nBody OpenGL are now SSE2/SSE2 Scalar/SSE3 hand optimized. The different nBody code paths can be forced through separate new tests.
* Large portions of code have been rewritten/cleaned up.
* CPUSpeed now reads clock speed from WMI except for VIA C7 and Transmeta efficeon processors which provide that data through CPUID. The VIA C7's core temperature is graphed. MSR read and write functionality added.
* All known bugs have been addressed.
* A Stablity Test is now implemented.

The keen-eyed observer will notice that the OpenSourceMark Beta 8 Result Viewer offers the first comprehensive look at C7 performance. The data is interesting and worth perusing.

Although I can't disclose the power saving data yet, I can say that the VIA C7-M sets new standards in notebook battery life by -- and I am not exaggerating -- eye-popping, jaw-dropping degrees.

I greatly appreciate any feedback on the new beta, and I particularly welcom bug reports.
