Ich bin für 1024x768 ohne AA/AF und 1600x1200 mit 4xAA/8x bzw 16xAF, beides mit EAX. Das Teil bleibt eh ein CPU-Test.

Lol, aber sicher. ;) Schau' dir mal misterhs Werte an, die sprechen Bände. 1024x768 schicke 63 Fps ... und in 1600x1200 mit 4x/16xAF immer noch 44 Fps. Klar, er hat eine High-End-Karte, aber die CPU geht ebenfalls gut ab – ausgewogen. Also ist der Bench CPU-lastig.

SLI arbeitet aber volle Pulle außer beim zweiten Test, dieser scheint mir als einzigster cpulastig , beim Rest hat SLI voll zu tun.
Edit: Test 2 dort funktioniert definitiv kein SLI da muss ich erstmal die richtigen SLI Bits finden.

Man sollte auf C:\ (also besser gesagt dort wo windows installiert ist) immer min. 1 GB frei haben.

Viele Installer schieben nämlich erstmal allen möglichen Krimskrams in die Temp-Ordner von Windows und wenn dann die Platte aufeinmal voll ist, kann das lange.. sehr lange.. dauern :D

Hmm ... ich glaube, ich verstehe. Das Problem ist nicht nur, dass man genug Platz haben muss ... nein, man "darf" es zusätzlich nur auf der Windows-Partition installieren, ansonsten schmiert's ab. Genial!

gibt auch leute, die keine gammastrahlung nutzen, um bilder anzuschauen.

Aber so wies aussieht, eher CPU Lastig.

ich bin für 1280x1024 mit 2xAA/4xAF .

gibt auch leute, die keine gammastrahlung nutzen, um bilder anzuschauen.

Aber so wies aussieht, eher CPU Lastig.

19 Zoll und besser rulez. ;)

1280 mit 2x/4x dürfte kaum Unterschiede aufzeigen, wenn man eine halbwegs aktuelle GraKa sein Eigen nennt. Aber gut, das wäre als Setting für die Lücke gut.

Und nun der Benchmark von meiner persönlichen Eye-Candy-Version, nämlich mit 6xAAA und HQAF.

Fairerweise möchte ich nicht unerwähnt lassen, dass Adaptives AA in X3 so gut wie nichts zu tun hat. Keine Maschendrahtzäune, keine Bäume, kein Gras. 6xAAA kostete im Vergleich zu 6xAA nur 1 fps. In X3 kann man AAA bedenkenlos einsetzen. Zumindest in dieser Demo.

Nicht nur das! Man braucht sich nur mal meine Benches anzusehen, um festzustellen, dass er CPu limitiert ist! Ein Verlust von gerade Mal 4 fps (~14%) von 1024x768 ohne AA/AF zu 1280x1024 mit 4xAA/16xAF würde ich sicher nicht Graka-limitiert nennen!

ganz falsch, Test 2 (szene 01) ist praktisch 100% cpu limitiert und ansonsten hat die cpu auch ein mächtiges Wort mitzureden bei den anderen Tests...

Stimmt, an so manchen Stellen ruckelt es gewaltig und zieht die Framerate in den Keller. Je nach neugestartetem Durchlauf liegt bei mir die Minframerate zwischen 2 und 9 Frames in der gleichen Szene.

Hm, mir ist da eben etwas aufgefallen. Die R4x0s nutzen den Shader-2.b-Pfad – soweit fein. Weil darunter allerdings ein "16 Bit" vorkommt (Vertex-Shader), fühle ich mich angesichts der Tatsache, dass das bei meinem R350 nicht steht, überarbeitet. ;)

Viper']wieso? das game sieht so ingame aus....

Die Ergebnisse erreicht man bestenfalls beim Spielstart. Mit genug Fabriken und Schiffen schlägt das Spiel sehr schnell in eine 100% CPU Limitierung um.

EDIT:
Ich schätze auch mal das bestenfalls das bestehende Kartenmaterial zu Spielbegin genutzt wird.
Ich finde es schade das es keinen in-game-test per Safegame giebt. Das wäre sicher bei weitem aussagekräftiger als superPi gewesen. :)

SLI arbeitet aber volle Pulle außer beim zweiten Test, dieser scheint mir als einzigster cpulastig , beim Rest hat SLI voll zu tun.
Edit: Test 2 dort funktioniert definitiv kein SLI da muss ich erstmal die richtigen SLI Bits finden.



Also wenn der Test wirklich deutlich auf die gfx schlägt, dann hat das Teil nix mit dem Spiel zu tun. Das Spiel ist mehr oder weniger grausam CPU-limitiert.

Ich sag nur: ÜBEL :D Wie gesagt Vsync und TripleBuff mit ATT. Auch sonst
alles "Quality" wie ich das beim Spielen nutze. Die Qualiüberwachung :| war aus. Drunter nochmal in 1024x768. Genauso übel. Ic glaub die Graka könnte mehr aber die CPU ist alle (?)

IMHO nein, bzw. nicht ganz. Meine CPU hat schätzungsweise ähnlich viel Dampf wie deine mit 2,3 GHz, eventuell etwas mehr, aber ich komme nur knapp auf 26 Fps. Deine etwa doppelt so schnelle GraKa haut viel raus. :) Mit mehr CPU-Power ginge da aber sicher auch noch was.

Ich würd sagen, bis zum einen gewissen Punkt limitiert klar die Graka. Wenn man aber drüber weg ist, limitiert nur noch die CPU. Und das scheint man bei X3 - was man so hört - schon mit einer X800pro zu sein. Oder interpretier ich hier was falsch? Und guck Dir mal die SLIs oder die X1k an :( Sehr wenig FPS.

Das gleiche Imperium in X3 schlägt um Welten massiver auf die CPU als bei X2. Auch wenn man einfach nur irgendwo im Hangar rumhockt. Ich hab dafür aber an keiner Stelle das Gefühl, daß SO viel mehr im Hintergrund passiert. Irgendwie hat man das Gefühl, daß all die Ereignisse noch zusätzlich auf irgendeinem virtuellen Bildschirm in voller Pracht dargestellt wurden. Da besteht noch viel Optimierungspotenzial. imho. Sieht man schon an dem Unterschied zwischen 1.3 und dem ersten Release (Speed) Welten! :) Und in dem Demo passiert ja nichts im Hintergrund. Das Spiel selbst bringt die CPU hier auf höhere Temperatur als CPUburnin :D Und selbst das Demo bricht ja schon ein. Braucht man sich nichts vormachen. Ein 2.3Ghz Barton könnte aber imho mehr aus dem Spiel machen als man ihn läßt. Geschweige von den 2.0-2.4Ghz Optis die hier gelistet sind. Wenn man überlegt welche Power die bringen, sind die Ergebnisse an sich sehr schwach (für das Spiel)

Gut beobachtet. Ich war auch erstaunt wie flüssig sich das Spiel teils mit 25fps gibt. Würde meine "Gurke" in Szene1 min. 15fps bringen, würd ich die Engine für ausgezeichnet erklären ;)

Gibt es hier jemanden der NICHT mit den 2-3 'total hold ons' (0.5s?) zu kämpfen hat? 256MB Grakaram alle?

Die Triebwerksstrahlen und die Geschosse werden immer HDR gerendert :crazy: Wenn die Szene KI nutzen würde, wäre der Verlauf ja nicht immer 100% identisch. Vielleicht verursacht man das in der Demo extra? :| Soviel Finesse trau ich den aber nicht zu. Schade, daß es kein Demo von der 1.1 gab. Das lief quasi nur auf der CPU und flüssig nur auf nem Grid. Na egal jetzt. Ich hoffe die basteln sich endlich ein brauchbares Tracing Tool und optimieren mal vernünftig bzw. überarbeiten noch einges. Würd mir das Spiel auch mal gerne kaufen, aber wenn ich sehe was da ein 2xxx Opti mit ner x1k bringt. Nee, erstmal nicht. So schossen den Vogel nichtmal BF2 oder FEAR ab. Ich meld mich mal, wenn es ein 1.5er Demo gibt...

edit. Bzw. die Jungs mit dem G70. Da siehts ja nicht besser aus. Dem Cat kann man das also nicht in die Schuhe schieben.

Der Bench hat mit dem Spiel nicht viel gemein. Die FPS hast du max. wenn du ein neues Spiel startest.
Im laufe des Spieles zählt nur eine fette CPU.

EDIT:

Das Universum ist ja in glaub 150 System unterteilt. 100% preziese wird nur das System berechnet in dem man sich befindet. Wenn man den Zeitbeschleuniger nutzt wird noch viel mehr gekürtzt.

Die Ladezeit eine Sektors kann von 5sec bis 3 min gehen. Das heißt man baut am besten ein System bis zu geht nicht mehr zu und betritt es dann nie wieder.
Gut ist das der Spielfluß in anderen Systemen kaum beeinflußt wird. Da stecken schon viele Optiemierungen von X2 mit drin. Dort hatte man nehmlich spätestens nach 1500 Schiffen max 5 FPS.

Hab das problem be NFSMW auch gehabt mit 512MB stark mit 1GB weniger und mit 2GB merk ich nichts mehr. Bei 512MB frohr er richtig ein und hat wieder von der Platte geladen. Dann gings wieder weiter. Auserdem is es sehr empfindlich wenn was im hintergrund läuft. Virenschutz is bei mir beim Zocken aus.
Vieleicht is X3 auch so ein Speicherfresser?

Bin auch grad beim runterladen.

Also erstmal schön zu sehen das euch der Benchmark gefällt :)
Die Information wieviel Mhz usw. sind sicher sinnvoll, werde das mal die Tage noch mit einbauen.
Der Punkt "Postprocessing" ist gleich "Glow", leider gibts da noch nen Bug das man das Feld auch aktivieren kann wenn der Glow nicht dargestellt werden kann, werd das mal fixen.

Ja ich weis Starforce ist so beliebt wie nen Magengeschwühr, es ist aber nunmal Tatsache das kein anderer Kopierschutz so schwer zu knacken ist. Die Demo muss leider Starforce verweden da die exe encrypted sein muss, sonst wäre es zu einfach durch nen Diff. der org. mit der Demo .exe nen Crack zu machen. Im Moment gibts dank DeamonTools + Bittorrent nur Starforce um nen Spiel zu schützen, alles andere ist in 2 Tagen gecrackt und downloadbar.
Das mit dem C:\ Laufwerk und der Installation war nen versehen, wird gefixt.

Noch einige kurze Hinweise, die "16bit" Vertex Format bedeuten das die Vertexdaten (Geometrie) wenn möglich in 16bit statt 32bit gespeichert werden. Dadurch werden die Vertexbuffer natürlich kleiner und der Bus Transfer verringert. Geht leider nicht auf allen Karten daher zumindest die Info am Ende. Wird im Moment nochmals umgestellt, werds wohl auch mal für den Benchmark An- und Abstellbar machen um besser vergleichen zu können.

Zu den Scenen:
Scene 0 sollte CPU und GPU lastig sein (ausgewogen)
Scene 1 ist extrem CPU lastig!
Scene 2/3 wieder ausgewogen wobei eher GPU lastig.

Aja natürlich kommt es im Spiel öfter zu einer CPU Limitierung, das liegt an viel Logic im Hintergrund. Allerdings basiert der Benchmark 100% auf der X3 Engine und nutzt deren Shader. Was bringt ein Benchmark der 100% CPU limited ist?

PS: falls noch weitere Anregungen zum Benchmark vorhanden sind könnt Ihr die auch an mich senden :) (will natürlich das Ihr den Benchmark wie schon bei X2 für eure Tests nutzt)

Naja ein NoCD patch macht keinen Sinn solange man mit dem Produkt noch Geld verdienen möchte..

Wie sollen wir unterscheiden ob ein User sich die Demo zum cracken oder zum Testen saugt? Um ein Spiel sicher zu schützen müssen alle .exe die rausgehen so gut wie möglich geschützt sein. Ist auch nur eine Version angreifbar gibts nen crack und damit nen download. Im Moment gibts keinen Crack für X3 nur DVD Images die nicht wirklich startbar sind. Wenn diverse Tools nicht so gut im Umgehen wären, würden "alte" Kopierschutz Mechanismen noch greifen und Starforce müsste nicht so tief ins System eingreifen. Wenn ich mir allerdings die Liste auf diversen Bittorrent Seiten an Spielen und die Daten des Release mit dem der gecrackten ISO Images vergleiche, kommt man zu dem Schluss das man ohne Starforce zu nutzen eh keine Chance hat ein Spiel zu schützen. Teilweise gibts die ersten Images schon 1 Tag nach Release oder früher...
Die einzige Alternative ist ein System ala HL2 und Steam.. zwangs online Freischaltung und spielen nur mit Internetverbindung. Dies ist technisch allerdings auch sehr anspruchsvoll.

bei mir läuft das game auch neuerdings SO ...
ohne DVD ...
hab mit ALC 120% ein MDS image erstellt (mit diesem dingens da)

mit Deamon tools geladen , installiert ...
und komischerweise läuft es
habe 2 SATA platten und 2 brenner ( Plextor CD-R und LG DVD-R )

er sucht die DVD zwar .. aber startet dennoch ...

kein plan warum ..
hatte es nur getestet weil bei der installation die DVD 2-3x gemuckt hatte
mittels image geht es schneller und sauberer ...


games werden teils vorher geknackt , bevor sie im laden stehen

bei STEAM hatte es ja auch nicht lange gedauert das es genug tools gab um es zu umgehen

starforce ist etwas aggressiver , aber wurde bis jetzt auch noch nicht geknackt



PS : hat sich mal jemand das hörbuch angetan ????

gibt auch leute, die keine gammastrahlung nutzen, um bilder anzuschauen.

Aber so wies aussieht, eher CPU Lastig.

Durch Erhöhung der Core Spannung ist sicher auch bei der X1900 ein kleiner Spielraum nach oben möglich. VR-Zone hat mit der Erhöhung von 1.2V auf 1.4V sagenhafte (hehe) 708 Mhz beim Core rausgeholt. Auch hier, mit Standardkühler.

Ja, ich habe mich selbst gewundert :eek: , nach dem wie manche die karte schlecht geredet haben war ich kurz davor mir ne x800Ati zu kaufen,zum glück bin ich das risiko eingegangen und habe mir die X1600xt gekauft. bei der auflösung kommt gegen keine x800Ati oder gf6800nvidia an :biggrin:
Die Grafikkarte ist nicht übertaktet, der Ram ist ein eintfacher MDT(2.5), nur die Cpu ist auf 2200MHz erhöht.

Hallo TrigPe, also etwas stimmt bei dir nicht ich habe vergleichbares system und 1024x768 ohne alles 51.0 fps und 1024x768 mit 4x 16x 45.0 fps und alles auf high.Und meine Cpu taktat 200Mhz weniger als deine.

Wenn ich mir das angucke dann ist die X1600XT am meisten unterschäzte Karte auf dem Markt (für leute die 1024x768 spielen)
Bei neuen anspruchvollen spielen in 1024x768 und alles auf anschlag können alle GF6800 und alle X800 Ati einpacken.
Und die X1800XT bei Pkt.2 ist nur 2 fps schneller....krass.
(falls es jemand nicht begriffen hat es geht mir nur um (1024x768) Auflösung nicht um High End.)
