Ich weiss, der Threadtitel ist sehr vage, aber ich bin mir auch nicht so sicher was genau mein Problem ist. Die Symptome sind etwas verwirrend.
Ganz von vorne:
Mein System ist ein Sockel 939 X2 4200
Mainboard Gigabyte Ga-K8N Pro-SLI F6
Festplatten sind alle von Samsung, 3x 300GB HD300LD, 1x 400GB HD401LJ
So weit die wichtigsten Daten. Die Rot markierte Festplatte befindet sich seit neuestem im Rechner, vorher keine SATA-Geräte angeschlossen.
Ich habe ein DualBoot-System mit WinXP auf dem neuesten Stand, sowie einem Ubuntu 6.06.1 (inkl. dessen Bootloader Grub). Seit dem Moment in dem ich die Festplatte angeschlossen habe habe ich folgende Symptome:
1. Das BIOS bleibt nach Erkennung der Festplatten ca. 10 Sekunden stehen. Dann gehts normal weiter.
2. Grub ist langsamer geworden. Die Meldung "GRUB Loading stage 1.5. " (die normalerweise kaum zu sehen ist) erscheint verzögert, und zwar steht ca. 10 Sekunden nur "Grub" da, dann kommt "Loading Stage 1.5" dahinter, es steht wieder alles für 10 Sekunden, dann kommt das Auswahlfeld für das zu startende Betriebssystem. Wähle ich Windows kommen die Meldungen Chainloader +1, makeActive etc. und dann nichts mehr. Auch nach einer halben Stunde Wartezeit nichts. Linux dagegen startet. Die Anzeige "Mounting root Filesystem" steht für 2 Minuten und 10 Sekunden (Stoppuhr), danach startet das System ohne Probleme. Es läuft alles, alle Partitionen werden erkannt, die SATA-Platte wird erkannt. Auch nach 5 Stunden Betrieb kein Absturz, kein Fehler, nichts.
3. PE-Builder-CD gestartet. Auch hier steht das System für ca. 2-3 Minuten, dann startet alles ohne Probleme.
4. Seit die SATA-Platte angeschlossen ist taucht bei jedem Linux-Start die Fehlermeldung "hda: DMA timeout error" und "hda: dma timeout error: status=0x58 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest }"

SMART-Status zeigt keinen Fehler, die Platten funktionieren im Betrieb einwandfrei. Alle Partitionen werden ohne Fehler gemountet.
Also hab ich mir gedacht: Mensch, irgendwas mag das System nicht an der SATA2-Platte. Na gut, dann halt weg damit. Platte abgeklemmt, gestartet, gleiches Problem. Selbst wenn ich den SATA-Controller im BIOS komplett deaktiviere kommen die oben genannten Pausenzeiten.
Was mich noch irritiert: hdparm /dev/hda zeigt mir

Als nächstes werde ich die Platten einzeln testen, aber ich habe irgendwie das Gefühl bei meiner Umbauaktion (Für den Einbau der SATA2 musste ich alles andere Umbauen wegen Stromkabeln) habe ich irgendwas geschrottet. Nur was? Und warum läuft Linux ohne Probleme (wenn es denn einmal gestartet ist)?
Ganz von vorne:
Mein System ist ein Sockel 939 X2 4200
Mainboard Gigabyte Ga-K8N Pro-SLI F6
Festplatten sind alle von Samsung, 3x 300GB HD300LD, 1x 400GB HD401LJ
So weit die wichtigsten Daten. Die Rot markierte Festplatte befindet sich seit neuestem im Rechner, vorher keine SATA-Geräte angeschlossen.
Ich habe ein DualBoot-System mit WinXP auf dem neuesten Stand, sowie einem Ubuntu 6.06.1 (inkl. dessen Bootloader Grub). Seit dem Moment in dem ich die Festplatte angeschlossen habe habe ich folgende Symptome:
1. Das BIOS bleibt nach Erkennung der Festplatten ca. 10 Sekunden stehen. Dann gehts normal weiter.
2. Grub ist langsamer geworden. Die Meldung "GRUB Loading stage 1.5. " (die normalerweise kaum zu sehen ist) erscheint verzögert, und zwar steht ca. 10 Sekunden nur "Grub" da, dann kommt "Loading Stage 1.5" dahinter, es steht wieder alles für 10 Sekunden, dann kommt das Auswahlfeld für das zu startende Betriebssystem. Wähle ich Windows kommen die Meldungen Chainloader +1, makeActive etc. und dann nichts mehr. Auch nach einer halben Stunde Wartezeit nichts. Linux dagegen startet. Die Anzeige "Mounting root Filesystem" steht für 2 Minuten und 10 Sekunden (Stoppuhr), danach startet das System ohne Probleme. Es läuft alles, alle Partitionen werden erkannt, die SATA-Platte wird erkannt. Auch nach 5 Stunden Betrieb kein Absturz, kein Fehler, nichts.
3. PE-Builder-CD gestartet. Auch hier steht das System für ca. 2-3 Minuten, dann startet alles ohne Probleme.
4. Seit die SATA-Platte angeschlossen ist taucht bei jedem Linux-Start die Fehlermeldung "hda: DMA timeout error" und "hda: dma timeout error: status=0x58 { DriveReady SeekComplete DataRequest }"

SMART-Status zeigt keinen Fehler, die Platten funktionieren im Betrieb einwandfrei. Alle Partitionen werden ohne Fehler gemountet.
Also hab ich mir gedacht: Mensch, irgendwas mag das System nicht an der SATA2-Platte. Na gut, dann halt weg damit. Platte abgeklemmt, gestartet, gleiches Problem. Selbst wenn ich den SATA-Controller im BIOS komplett deaktiviere kommen die oben genannten Pausenzeiten.
Was mich noch irritiert: hdparm /dev/hda zeigt mir

Als nächstes werde ich die Platten einzeln testen, aber ich habe irgendwie das Gefühl bei meiner Umbauaktion (Für den Einbau der SATA2 musste ich alles andere Umbauen wegen Stromkabeln) habe ich irgendwas geschrottet. Nur was? Und warum läuft Linux ohne Probleme (wenn es denn einmal gestartet ist)?
