hat jemand eine ahnung, wie es bei direct2drive mit download, drm und co aussieht? gibts da auch länderbeschränkungen? irgendeinen download-/spielclient?

Das sind schon einige Einschränkungen, wenn man Pech hat, muss man immer auf eine spezielle Version des Patches warten oder Addons auch dort kaufen.
Und wie oft und lange darf man überhaupt dort runterladen? Wie siehts mit Mods aus, verwendbar?

Das ist bei D2D von Spiel zu Spiel unterschiedlich. IIRC, gab es in der Vergangenheit die selben Probleme wie auch bei Steam, Impulse und Co., also die Notwendigkeit irgendwelcher Sonderpatches, die oftmals erst Tage oder gar Wochen später erscheinen.

Die D2D-Version von Dragon Age hingegen ist fantastisch. Man bekommt einen einfachen Installer auf die Festplatte gepackt und die Installation ist identisch mit der der DVD-Version, man kann also alle Patches, Mods usw. problemlos verwenden.

Als Europäer muss man übrigens bei D2D UK kaufen, die Dollarpreise sind also für unsereins uninteressant...

Habe mir Mount & Balde für umgerechnet €7.50 gekauft, das ist OK. Prototype kostet dort nur 12.5 GBP, also weniger als €15, was doch ne ganze Ecke billiger ist als das supertolle €25 Steam-Angebot...

So ganz pauschal kann man das auch nicht sagen - ich habe kürzlich das Indiegame-Pack problemlos auf der amerikanischen Seite erworben. Steht ja auch immer bei, ob weltweit verfügbar oder nur in bestimmten Ländern. Ein Blick lohnt also auf jeden Fall und der UK-Account gilt auch in den Staaten ...

wie kommst du denn überhaupt auf die .com ohne irgendwelche proxies etc.? Bei mir macht der immer nen redirect auf .co.uk. Ist aber erst seit ein paar Tagen so, vorher gings?
