gleichzeitig geil und lächerlich. Lou Reeds Worte sind einfach bösartig genial... die Einsetzenden Trashmetal-Phasen sind auch gut... Kirks Singende Versuche, Lou Reed zu "kopieren"... sind bescheuert... Und? Ist die Scheibe empfehlenswert? Ich bin ja absoluter Fan von CBL, James Murray und Hol Baumann, aber zu Solar Fields habe ich bisher nur Zugang zu einigen, wenigen Stücken gefunden.
Bislang habe ich immer ein wenig Variation vermisst. Kann aber auch damit zusammenhängen, dass ich mich bislang noch nicht richtig bewusst und über lange Zeit hinweg mit den Alben beschäftigt habe. :)

Möchte ich was zu schreiben, kann ich aber nicht.
Keine Ahnung wie man das beschreiben soll. Fängt schon beim Bandnamen an: eigentlich ∆, "alt-j" ist nur die Tastenkombination dafür auf'm Mac.
Und die Musik? Wiki sagt: Die Band spielt nach eigenen Angaben Alternative-Pop, der auf Folk-Versen, Synthesizerklängen, Hip-Hop-Synkopierungen und knappen Gesangsharmonien beruht. und Their debut album, An Awesome Wave, was released on 25 May 2012 by Infectious Music, and drew on multiple musical genres and sensibilities (folk, rock bass, catchy pop, hip-hop beats, trip-hop atmosphere, indie-rock quirkiness, electronic heavy synth riffs). They were wedded to intimately personal, sometimes confessional lyrics, peppered with film and literary references including allusions to The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly, Luc Besson's Léon: The Professional and Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are
Toll, bringt einen jetzt auch nicht weiter.
Man kann nicht mal richtig sagen, ob's eher schnelle oder langsame Musik ist.
Ein Lied wandelt sich von einem Moment zum anderen genau so schnell wie die Gesangsstimmen zwischen hoch, tief, quäkend, ernst, verspielt, zerbrechlich oder sanft wechseln. Prinzipiell wird eine Menge Atmosphäre durch die Stimme aufgebaut.
Man merkt, dass hier absolute Perfektionisten versucht haben ein Kunstwerk abzuliefern. Geschaffen haben sie was ganz eigenes, unverwechselbares und detailverliebtes.
Das ist so ein Album, dass man sich Abends einlegen kann, die Kopfhörer aufsetzt, es sich bequem macht und es dann von Anfang bis Ende in einem Stück durchhört und dabei einfach wegdriften und träumen kann.
Musik zum genießen. Hab lange nichts mehr gehört, was mich so fasziniert hat.
