Du hast mit den Updates bei Software zwar Recht aber bei den Hobbyfummlern von xvidvideo.ru ist es bekannt das die nur PreAlpha Versionen aus dem SVN runter laden die noch lange nicht fertig sind und massiv Fehler enthalten. Diese Versionen sind von den Entwicklern nur abgespeichert worden weil se mal die Arbeit unterbrochen oder sich ins Bett gelegt haben, diese Versionen sind nicht für die Öffentlichkeit bestimmt und sollten auch nicht benutzt werden. Ich kann nur dringend dazu raten die Herstellerseiten für den Download zu benutzen. Interessant ist auch das xvidvideo.ru von Leuten empfohlen wird die Sicherheitsbedenken bei Microsoft haben, wer weiß denn ob die russischen besoffenen Studienabbrecher da nicht einen Virus rein packen.

In Verbindung mit ffdshow die beste und einfachste Möglichkeit mit dem Windows Media Player so ziemlich alle Video und Audio Formate abspielen zu können, das ist besser als jedes Codec Pack und es müllt das System nicht mit unnötigem Balast zu.

Ich weiß jetzt nicht ganz genau wann der erste security im svn nach der vorletzten Final kam, aber das waren imho nur paar Monate später.

So wie die Typen 10 Monate im Jahr rumwiseln könnte man schon alleine vom Updaten burn-out kriegen. Man muß das nicht jeden Tag machen.

Ich benutze auch ausschließlich die MPC-HC Builds von xvidvideo.ru und hatte bisher nie Software- oder Sicherheitsprobleme.

Habe jetzt auch mal auf die 1.4.2499.0 geupdatet. Hat alle Einstellungen übernommen, so weit so gut. Ein altes Problem habe ich aber nach wie vor: Ich verwende die INI-Datei für die Einstellungen. Immer wenn ich den Player schließe oder etwas in den Optionen ändere, die INI also neu geschrieben wird, dauert das ca. 10 Sekunden, während dieser Zeit ist mein P4@3200 ausgelastet. Was dann auch passiert: Wenn ich ein anderes Video aufrufe bevor der Player komplett aus dem Taskmanager verschwunden ist, geht die INI kaputt! Das merke ich dann immer daran dass meine selbst definierten Tastenkürzel nicht mehr funktionieren. Als Workaround habe ich meine Standardeinstellungen getroffen und dann die INI schreibgeschützt, das behebt beide Probleme.

Am Anfang hatte ich kein OSD und einige Crashes beim starten, beides war behoben als ich die d3dx9_41.dll gegen die d3dx9_43.dll ersetzt hatte. Über die zu alte DLL hat er sich auch bei jeden Start lauthals beschwert. :D

Videos spielt er so weit alle ab, nur mit MPEG2 Dateien habe ich Probleme, trotz nur minimaler CPU-Last stocken die und das Bild bleibt, meist wenn sie bis über die Hälfte abgespielt sind, komplett stehen. Mit der VOB-Datei einer DVD gab es das Problem aber nicht. Den internen MPEG2-Decoder habe ich schon testweise deaktiviert, hat nichts geändert. :uponder:
Werde die Version trotzdem für's Erste mal drauf lassen.

was soll denn das immer? Ich habe keine Lust solche Sachen bis ins Kleinklein auszudiskutieren. Vor allem wenn von meiner Seite aus schon alles gesagt wurde. Tomislav hat weiteres aus seiner Sicht dazu ausgeführt...

Wer wirklich auf Nummer sicher gehen will, der holt sich die Version, die über den von mir aufgeführten Link erreichbar ist. Der Rest kann sich gerne bei BH's Link bedienen. Ich sehe das völlig emotionslos. Ich empfehle das aber - aus guten Gründen - weiterhin nicht.
Da könnt ihr an mich hinschreiben was ihr wollt.

habe festgestellt (das erste Mal o.O) dass ich die alten Daten wiederherstellen musste, da er mir sonst nur unbeendbares Video brachte (nur Neustart half). Sonst: Das Ruckeln ist weniger geworden, wie ich feststellte bisher (y) :)
