QUAKECON® 2011 DATES ANNOUNCED

WHAT:

QuakeCon® is the ultimate video game festival and party. QuakeCon is open to the public and attendance is FREE thanks to the support of id® Software and Bethesda Softworks®, the QuakeCon volunteer staff, and the 2011 event sponsors and exhibitors.

WHEN:

QuakeCon will take place August 4 – 7, 2011.

WHERE:

The Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, Texas.

WHY:

QuakeCon will once again host North America’s largest BYOC (Bring-Your-Own-Computer) LAN party, with thousands of gamers hooking their systems up to play on a world-class network.

QuakeCon also offers nonstop fun and entertainment for those that don’t bring their own computers. Bethesda Softworks will offer the first chance anywhere for gamers to get their hands on upcoming titles, and the world’s leading technology companies will be on hand to demonstrate their latest hardware and software in the 45,000 square foot exhibit hall. Every day of QuakeCon is packed with contests, entertainment, announcements, panel discussions, and parties!

his morning we’re pleased to announce that QuakeCon, the ultimate video game festival, will kick off on Thursday, August 4th 2011. As tradition goes, id’s co-founder and technical director, John Carmack, will kick things off with his keynote address.

In addition to the keynote and other special events (more on that soon), this year’s event will give you a chance to see some great presentations on our upcoming titles, including Todd Howard’s first public presentation of Skyrim!! QuakeCon will also see the first public demo of Prey 2, which will be demoed by Chris Rhinehart, Project Lead at Human Head Studios. And in addition to being able to play RAGE on the show floor, attendees will be able to check out a special presentation of the award-winning shooter given by Matt Hooper, the game’s Design Director.

QuakeCon 2011 will take place at the Hilton Anatole Hotel in Dallas, TX. The event remains FREE to general admission and BYOC attendees thanks to the support of id and Bethesda Softworks, as well as the QuakeCon volunteer staff and the 2011 event sponsors and exhibitors. Doors to the QuakeCon BYOC will open on Thursday, August 4th at 9:00am CST and will remain open through 12:00pm CST on Sunday, August 7th.

Naja, meine Hoffnungen ruhen im Moment auf Rage, Prey 2 wird sicher gut, aber wohl leider nicht meinen Geschmack treffen.

Carmack said once RAGE is released, id will focus on giving the DOOM 3 source code to the public. It will be released sometime this year. Carmack said this is also a challenge to other developers to release old source code. It helps the development community and id.

Sie lernen halt Rage wurde viel zu früh gezeigt,vor 2013 kommt da eh nix wenn jetzt erst der Großteil vom Team von Rage zu Doom 4 gewechselt ist.

Die Entwicklung für D3 begann Juni 2000, und dauerte vier Jahre. August 2004 konnte man es kaufen.

Die Spielgrafik wurde erstmals im Jahr 2001 vorgestellt!

3 Jahre und REIN GAR NICHTS nichts vorzuweisen? Arm...

Vorerst kein neuer Quake oder Wolfenstein Teil
Schlechte Nachrichten für alle 'Quake'-Fans. Wie John Carmack, seinerseits Technical Director bei id Software, im Zuge der QuakeCon 2011 verlauten ließ, befindet sich derzeit kein Spiel der Shooter-Serie in Entwicklung. Demnach wird weder an einem 'Quake 5' noch an einem anderen 'Quake'-Spiel gearbeitet. Ebenso wenig plant man dies in nächster Zeit zu ändern.

Auch die Frage nach möglichen neuen 'Wolfenstein'-Spielen bekam eine negative Antwort. Viele hatten vermutet, dass id Software an einem 'Return to Castle Wolfenstein' in Form eines 'Quake Live' arbeiten könnte. Carmack bekräftigte aber, dass es dafür keinerlei Pläne gäbe, was vor allem damit zusammen hängt, dass 'Quake Live' für id Software alles andere als ein finanzieller Erfolg ist.

Naja ich bin mit QL auch noch sehr zufrieden.
MMn können noch 3-4 Jahre ins Land gehen bis wir ein neues Quake sehen.
