Viren Hoax !!!

meine schwester hat ne mail bekommen das eine "freundin" nen virus hat und sie die datei sulfnbk.exe löschen soll
sie hat das natürlich gleich gemacht und schaut jetzt dumm aus der wäsche !!!
meine frage:
wofür ist die datei eigentlich zuständig
wie bekomme ich sie wieder in ordnung

Eine einfache Suche bei mircosoft.com brachte das zum Vorschein :

Sulfnbk.exe is a Windows utility that is used to restore long file names. This utility is not required to run Windows, but it is necessary if you need to restore long files names if they become damaged or corrupted.

If this utility is removed, you can restore it by following the steps in the appropriate section of this article.

Windows Millennium Edition (Me)
To extract files in Windows Me, use the System Configuration utility:
Click Start, and then click Run.


Type msconfig, and then press ENTER.


Click Extract Files. The Extract one file from installation disk dialog box is displayed.


In the Specify the system file you would like to restore box, type drive:\windows\command\sulfnbk.exe (where drive is the drive on which the Windows folder is installed, usually drive C), and then click Start. The Extract File dialog box is displayed.


Click Browse, and then browse to the location of the Windows installation files. If the installation files were copied to the hard disk, this location is C:\Windows\Options\Install by default. You can also insert the Windows Me installation CD-ROM in the CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive, and then browse to that location


Click OK, and then follow the instructions.

ja, hab ich auch gekriegt, aber nicht reagiert... wozu auch.. ich find es eh total brescheuert, irgendwer schreibt so nen stuss zusammen á la "die datei WIN.COM ist ein Windows virus, löscht ihn schnell, sonst ist euer pc für immer im arsch! gott schütze uns alle!..."

und alle möglichen leute schiessen sich das win ab!

Tatsächlich ist sulfnbk.exe ein Windows-Systemprogramm, das dazu dient, lange Dateinamen wiederherzustellen. Wer die Datei bereits gelöscht hat, kann sie mit SFC (unter Windows 98) oder MSConfig (Windows ME) aus den CAB-Dateien der Windows-Installations-CD wieder einspielen.

Dieser Virus ist eine Datei, die Win dazu benutzt, lange Dateinamen wieder herzustellen, also nicht löschen und ggf. aus den CAB datein wieder herstellen!
