Hi,
Ich will mir einen Bildbearbeitungs-PC (Wissenschaft, ImageJ etc., kein Adobe) zusammenstellen, da mir die HP, Dell und Lenovo Workstations, die ich kenne, nicht so richtig gut gefallen. Ich denke bisher an folgendes:
1 Intel Core i7-3970X Extreme Edition Sandy Bridge-E 3.5GHz (4.0GHz Turbo) LGA 2011 150W Six-Core Desktop Processor
1 ASUS P9X79 PRO LGA 2011 Intel X79 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard with USB BIOS
1 Kingston HyperX 64GB (8 x 8GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 Desktop Memory XMP Model KHX16C9K8/64X
1 Noctua NH-U14S 140x150x25 ( NF-A15 PWM) SSO2-Bearing ( Self-stabilising oil-presure bearing ) CPU Cooler

Grafikkarte ist unwichtig, und da hab ich hier noch ein paar rumliegen.
Meine Hauptfrage ist: Ist der i7-3970X immer noch empfehlenswert? Der Aufpreis fuer den E5-2687W scheint es mir nicht Wert zu sein (besonders wenn man EEC Ram und Server Mainboard dazurechnet), oder sehe ich das falsch? Gibt es andere Xeons die da empfehlenswert sind?
Und dann frage ich mich noch, ob 64GB Ram zuverlaessig mit dem X79 Chipsatz laufen. Preis/Leistung ist in gewissen Rahmen nicht so wichtig, da ich das Ding fuer meine Arbeitsstelle kaufe.
