Nur irgendwie ist die Option nodri gesetzt und ich glaube daran liegts, denn glx und alles ist ja geladen...:( Nur ich bekomm die Option ums verrecken nicht weg?!

du mußt eine neue xf86config mit dem ati-tool fglrxconfig erstellen.

Also nach dem man

fglrxconfig eingibt,

muss man erstmal fragen beantworten, dessen Antwort kaum jemand wissen dürfte...;) (Wie heißt das Device ihrer Maus oder so ähnlich :bonk: )

Ok, danach neu gebootet (jaja, nix sagen) und X geht nicht - Fehlermeldung kommt, neu Konfigurieren, x geht wieder, Maus geht nicht...SPITZE.

Zum Glück hatte ich noch die alte XF86Config...=)

ist das jetzt die config, wo die maus nicht geht, x aber schon?
was hast du denn für eine maus?
Und dann schau mal in /dev nach und schau alle files an, die nach maus ausschaun - z.B. dev/mouse, dev/mice/mouse0 oder ähnliches

oh ich seh grad in deiner sig
logitech wheel mouse optical :)

Ok, ich glaub ich weiß warum es nicht geht (und bei manchen doch).

Die Treiber findet man nämlich unter "Built by ATI" - während es unter "Powered by ATI" keine Linux Treiber gibt!

Und da manche "Fremdhersteller" Original ATI karten verkaufen, wäre es IMO möglich, dass nur DIESE auch mit den Treibern laufen...nur so ein Gedanke...

wenn aber x geht (nur die maus nicht), dann ist das ein Zeichen dafür, dass der ati-Treiber funzt, wenn der denn in der config auch eingestellt ist

Ob die Maus geht weiß ich net, da ich garnet in X reinkomme weil irgendein Device/Server/keine Ahnung nicht startet.

Das passiert auch wenn ich den oberen Text, der anstatt meiner alten "Device" Section reinschreibe.

Wo X geht und die Maus net, das war die alte XF86config, nach dem "neu Konfigurieren". Dabei wurde die XF86config-4 umbenannt in XF86config-4.deprecated...

meine 9500 ist auch eine im originaldesign und funktioniert.

Für den Fehlerfall gibt es ja zum Glück eine log-Datei unter '/var/log/XFree86.*.log'. Und im Falle deiner Maus..

USB:
'/dev/mice/input'

PS/2:
'/dev/psaux'

Seriell - RS232:

'/dev/ttyS0' als COM1
'/dev/ttyS1' als COM2

FIXME: k.A. wie es mit 'devfs' ausschaut

die fragen sind wirklich ganz easy zu beantworten.
gegebenenfalls kann mann die ja noch mal editieren um z.bsp. die richtige mauskonfiguration zu haben.

der letzte treiber (2.5.1) soll angeblich auch alle "powered by ati" nun unterstützen,die zwei vorhergehenden treiber taten das nicht.
entsprechende hinweise findet mann in der xfree86.log an der stelle,wo das ati-kernelmodul geladen wird.

Also bei meinem kleinen Bruder läuft auch Linux + Radeon8500! Die Radeon ist eine "powered by ATi" von HIS und funzt mit den 2.5.1 ATI Treibern absolut problemlos! Wenn du fglrxconfig aufrufst, dann versucht das Programm sogar alles automatisch zu erkennen (in Eckigen Klammern, dort wo du die entsprechende Auswahl angeben sollst wird dann das entsprechende vorgeschlagen)! Ich hab fast überall einfach Enter gedrückt, dann werden die Vorgaben übernommen. Nur bei den Wiederholfrequenzen für den Monitor hab ich erst mal im Handbuch des Monitors nachgeschaut und die richtigen Werte selber eingeben :)! Ach ja und am Schluss musste ich noch die XF86Config-4 nach XF86Config umbenennen, weil unter SuSE 8.0 es keine XF86Config-4 gibt.
