Der "ultimative" AMD/Intel Vergleich.

- FullHD Videosample
- x264 x64, build r2579
- 2 CRF Durchläufe mit je einem Thread und 2 mit der Einstellung auf Auto. D.h. der Encoder nutzt alle vorhandenen Threads.

Einfach die "Run Benchmark.vbs" starten und bestätigen.

Den nächsten 10% Performancesprung gibts mit skylake, is auch nicht die Welt.


Was mich mal interessieren würde wäre dieser Bench mit X265, der bringt übertaktete CPUs schnell zum Absturz...

Ziemlich erbärmliche Singlecore-Leistung – auch im Vergleich zu den FX-Chips vergleichbaren Takts. Der Benchmark hier nutzt wohl alle Erweiterungen, die moderne CPUs auffahren, und von denen hat der Thuban eben wenige (kein SSE3, AVX, etc.). Die Multithread-Leistung ist jedoch wie gewohnt stark, allerdings nicht mit optimaler Skalierung, obwohl das System an jeder Ecke optimiert ist (u. a. Northbridge).

Skylake hat anscheinend eine bessere MT Skalierung als Haswell, ob das an TSX liegt? Ansonsten macht Skylake anscheinend auch gute 400 bis 500Mhz wett auf Haswell.

Gegenüber meinen alten Q6700@3Ghz habe ich fast 3fache Leistung :D

Schlammsau, kompilierst du selbst die x264.exe? Falls ja, hast du schon mal getestet, ob die neuen ADX-Instruktionen (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Intel_ADX) (ab Broadwell verfügbar) bei x264 etwas bringen? Bei y-cruncher bringt das nochmal einige Prozentpünktchen mehr Performance.

Zum Vergleich
VIA QuadCore C4650 @ 2.0GHz 1x2MB L2 cache |28nm | 18w TDP
VIA QuadCore L4700 @ 1.2+ GHz 4x1MB L2 cache | 40nm | 27w TDP

Sehr interessant der C4650 verfügt über 800 MHz mehr Takt und die Instructions SSE4.2 LZCNT BMI2.
Damit ist er im Singlehread fast Doppelt so schnell wie der L4700 nämlich um ganze 40 FPS.
Im Multithread sind es wenn man den Wert mal aufteilt auf 4 Kerne aber nur noch 35 FPS im vergleich zum L4700.
Das könnte ein Indiz dafür sein das der 1066 MHz V4 Bus bei immer höheren Taktraten die CPU immer stärker ausbremst

Edit: Tralalak hat mir erklärt das der V4 Bus 1066 MHz und nicht nur 800 MHz hat. ich habe das oben geändert.
Der L4700 hat im Multithread auch einen 4x1MB L2 cache wärend sich der C4650 den 1x2MB L2 cache teilen muss.

Als der kleinste Ryzen und eigentlich ziemlich armseelig wenn man sich dann auch noch den Stromverbrauch dazu anschaut. :smile:

Nein, bei mir ist alles Stock, nur eben der Ram, der ja auf 3000 läuft. Dein Ryzen taktet ja auch bis 3,8 Ghz im Turbo hoch. ;) Viel Luft ist da nach oben eh nicht mehr. Ist jedenfalls beeindruckend. Im Bench werden schließlich auch alle Threads voll ausgelastet. Dass es dann doch nur 31% sind finde ich beeindruckend. :)

Er erreicht theoretisch im Singlethreadlauf 3.7Ghz, ansonsten nur mit 3Ghz wenns von der TDP her passt. Und wenn mein RAM auch auf 3000Mhz laufen würde, sehe es noch "schlechter" für den 7700K aus.

Nicht Böse sein, aber wenn man dann noch den Preis und den Stromverbrauch noch anschaut, ist die Encodingleistung im Vergleich zu Ryzen fast schon unterirdisch.

Kaby Lake hat dafür andere Qualitäten.

Ja, das x264 Encoding schmeckt den Ryzens nicht so. Hab gerade mal ein paar Reviews geblättert.
Evtl liegts daran, dass es nicht mehr weiter entwickelt wird.

Ich bastel mal einen x265 Encoding Vergleich. :)

Imo läuft der RAM bei Radeonfreak aber mit 2666 CL14 und nicht mit 3200.

So verstehe ich zumindest ihre Meldungen im "Ryzen + Mainboard + RAM Erfahrungen" Thread.

Es gibt ja nu schon erste Bretter die 3600er zum laufen bringen, da kann man dann mal weitersehen.

Kann ich heute abend mal machen. Aber solange es heißt 1.3 Ghz Baseclock gegen 4.2 Ghz Baseclock wird sich da wenig ändern. Ist einfach die Schwachstelle von Ryzen. Welchen RAM willste da reinknallen, dass der das erreichen kann.

Ach so. :tongue: Ich hab schon im Bios geguckt und finde da keine Option wie ich den Takt beeinflussen kann. :redface: FSB kann ich ja nur 98 MHz setzen, aber nicht soweit runter. Finde den Multiplikator bei dem UEFI nicht. ^^

Ja ich hab das auch nicht wirklich erwartet, aber so sieht eben das Ergebnis aus. :eek: Ryzen hängt extrem am Uncore, weil da ja alles drüber läuft. Und bei mir ist der 4.2 GHz bei dir 1.3 Ghz. Dass da eklatante Unterschiede entstehen ist klar. Mich würde mal interessieren wie die Magazine da getestet haben und wie die dann auf die Ergebnisse kommen. Dein Ergebnis ist ja kein Einzelfall. Oder es liegt am Encoder im Benchmark, dass der irgendwie was nicht nutzt vom Ryzen?? Keine Ahnung.

Gibt es noch einen anderen freebenchmark oder wir können uns ja auf eine Software einigen und ein Video was wir dann konvertieren oder so? Würde mich auch interessieren.

imaginez, du musstest aus dem x265 Benchmark 0.1.4 die x265-64.exe kopieren und in Schlammsau's Benchmark kopieren (und seine Originaldatei sichern). Wenn du dann den Benchmark startest, hast du exakt Schlammsaus Einstellungen, nutzt aber die uralte x265-Version vom x265 Benchmark 0.1.4.

Nee, geht nicht sinnvoll, habe ich gerade probiert - die uralte x265-Version versteht nicht alle Optionen von Schlammsaus Benchmark-Script.

Evtl liegts am x265 preset oder am Video(format) oder dem vorgeschaltetem ffmpeg oder oder ...
mach du auch mal den Run mit der exe aus meinem Bench.
