BIOS Updates...

Hi an alle,

Ok da einige Anbieter BIOS Updates anbieten für ihre RadeON Karten wollte ich fragen ob es

1# überhaupt möglich ist bsp. ein neueres BIOS von Gigabyte oder FIC (9700Pro) zu updaten wenn man eine HIS 9700 Pro besitzt - Meine ist mit der allerersten 9700Pro Karten mit wie alle anderen 9700Pro Karten auch Samsung...?

- Weil die Karten unterscheiden sich so in rein garnichts (anderer lüfter)

Ich frage nur ~ weil ich gern alles auf dem neuesten Stand halte. (Ja ist ein WAHN) . Probleme habe ich gar keine ! Nur mich verwundert es das bei Gigabyte steht (Biosupdate F2 also 2.tes) ~ FIX TV-OUT ! ->> Und ich habe noch eine Radeon der allerersten Stunde...

-> So habe hier meine Erfahrungen mal geposted für andere USER mit selbigen Zweifel ~ ob sie ihr 8003 -> 8004 Bios flashen wollen...

The unoffical Radedit

I used same link 8004 Bios for my 9700Pro (HIS-9700Pro Memory Samsung 223) yesterday worked fines ~ during flashing you will se some seconds a "broken" output but it comes to normal "DOS" back after flashing Procedure is done

I downloaded from http://tw.giga-byte.com/ the F1 Bios ~ and used this Flashutility (FLASHROM.EXE) drom F1 Biosupdate + F2 Bios (ATIFLASH.EXE) to be secure that i saved with both utilities my Original BIOS

With Flash Util from F1~ DOS-COMMAND : FLASHROM.EXE -s 0 myorignal.rom

Or Flash Util from F2~ DOS-COMMAND : ATIFLASH.EXE -s 0 myorignal.rom

After doing this -> You can view with all your Radedits (newest Offical Version) your BIOS without Problems ~ with Unoffical he says i have a chunck size error ~ but it loads fine...

So i downloaded the 9700Pro Bios file from the link above to update my "8003" Bios with this "8004" Bios.

Going into DOS to Flash your ROM (i preffered FLASHROM.EXE from gigabytes sites for F1 Bios) so... :

DOS COMMAND : FLASHROM.EXE -f -p 0 978004.bin

where -f = FORCE
where -p = FLASH
where 0 = ADAPTER ie you can FLASH a PCI~ But we want to FLASH our AGP Card witch is on 0
..
