Epox 8rda -> WD Platte wird nicht erkannt

Seit ich eine WD bei mir im System habe, passiert es ab und zu mal beim Hochfahren, dass 1. bei der HD-Erkennung nur irgendwelche wirren Zeichen stehen (und nicht der Plattennamen) und dass 2. die Platte nicht verfügbar ist und ein Boot Failure auftritt. Bisher konnte ich das beheben, in dem ich den Rechner ein paar Minuten ausgeschaltet habe und dann wieder an. Jetzt hilft selbst das nicht.

Auf www.8rdafaq.com steht dazu folgendes:

Hard drive not detected - (Western Digital especially)

The first thing you should do to try and fix this problem is set the drive's jumpers to "cable select". If this doesn't work, you might have to perform a bit of magic with some scissors. Grab the IDE cable that you use for your hard drive, and cut the wire going to pin1 (which is the red wire on most older cables.) If you have a newer 80 wire cable, you will have to find both of the wires going to pin 1 and cut them. They are almost always the first two on the ribbon. I will add pictures if someone who has done this can send them in :)


Die "cable select"-Methode funktioniert nicht und bevor ich anfange an meinen IDE-Kabeln rumzuschnippeln, würde ich gern wissen, ob es noch andere Möglichkeiten gibt?

Hallo,

guck mal ob Du richtig gejumpert hast. Bei den WD gibt es die Option Single und Master with Slave. D.h. man muß der Platte sagen ob da noch ne zweite mit dran hängt.
Echt blöd wenn man eine Platte im Wechselrahmen mit dran hat die nicht immer drin steckt :(

Falls die WD Platte allein am Strang IDE 0 hängt, Jumper raus.. dann klappt es auch. Falls noch Eine Platte dranhängt an dem IDE 0 Strang dann weiss ich leider nciht weiter.

Die Platte ist Master und hängt zusammen mit einer anderen Platte dran. An der Jumperung sollte es nciht liegen, da sie sonst ja auch geht.
