Why are the buttons still in german (such 'antworten')?
Is there any way to correct this?

in fact in dont think it`s possible to seperate the buttons within different sub-boards from the language in the board itself.

Ahhhh....!
If signatures weren't limited to 99 pixels heigth, this soliloquy among Guests would now be my new signature...

P.S. Wasn't there some if...would-rule sometime? Never mind =)

For the simple reason that you cannot change the board language in a seperated forum.

edit: Corrected a mistake. I need to improve.;D

Please, everybody--just because this sub-forum's new, don't use it as an excuse to spamming. Thanks.

Guest,

AFAIK the forums software doesn't support multiple language icon sets. Sorry.

What? But the vBulletin Board should be able to use diffrent styles. So it should be possible to copy the default 3dcenter style and only change the buttons to english.

You are wrong...Each style could have it´s own pics/buttons...

But it should be under different conditions. The topics in the english forum mustn't be on a low niveau.

(4 buttons translated)What about the rest? Can't translate it, eh? ;D

Hint: You can right-click on the buttons, select "Properties" and look at the name of the image. For e.g. the "ändern"-button, the name is "edit.gif", which should be quite self-explanatory.

Here's the text on the buttons: (Only 5 images allowed per post, so I cant put them all here as images)

neues Thema -> new thread
antworten -> reply
ändern -> edit
zitat -> quote
http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/images/off.gif "... ist offline" -> is offline
http://www.forum-3dcenter.org/vbulletin/images/on.gif "... ist online" -> is online
Profil -> profile
pn -> send private message
www -> visit this user's homepage
suchen -> find posts of this user
buddy -> add user to your buddy list

That's it for the buttons.
Now, let's take a look at the reply page:
Angemeldet als -> Logged in as
Betreff -> Subject
Beitrags-Symbol -> Symbol for the post
vB Code [Hilfe] -> vB Code [Help]
Normaler Modus -> normal mode
Erweiteter Modus -> Extended mode
Größe -> Size (of the text)
Farbe -> Color (of the text)
Liste -> List
Zitat -> Quote
Aktuelles Tag schließen -> close actual tag
Alle Tags schließen -> close all tags

Deine Antwort -> Your reply
Siehe Forumsregeln (unten), welche... -> See Forum rules (below), which text formatting codes you are allowed to use
Anzeige: 10 von 176 -> Displaying 10 of 176 (smilies)

Optionen -> Options
Urls automatisch umwandeln -> automatically transform urls (add url tag)
eMail Benachrichtigung -> eMail notification
Grafische Smilies deaktivieren -> deactivate graphical smilies
Signatur anzeigen -> show signature

Datei anhängen -> attach file
Maximale Größe -> maximum size
Durchsuchen -> Browse (for a pic on your PC)
Erlaubte Dateiendungen -> allowed file types

Dieses Thema bewerten -> Give a grade for this thread
mittelmäßig -> average
schlecht -> poor

But this board supports mutiple styles like the Rage3D forum does.

Theoretically it is possible but you have to register and you have to change the option...

I'd rather use "Icon for the post" for it sounds better IMHO.

Who has moved this ???
I really think my translations should be in the sticky as well, not only a translation of puny 4 buttons and the instruction to use a web translator for the rest (which is neither helpful nor polite).

Can't you define seperate skins for each forum? AFAIK this is possible in almost every BB software I've run across.

I think it's very extensive to do this, isn't it?
But if you're able to do it and if it's not too extensive then do it.
btw: Very nice Board ^^

It goes without saying that somebody (a Mod ;D) has to do the job, but I take the view that a seperate skin's only necessary for this English forum, just to construct a contrast to the German rest.

I liked it better anyway...

Considering that more than 50% of all Forum members wrote their computer datas in their signature, that won't be a problem.;)

Just got an idea when I entered this forum:
What about something like a Popup, which comes up when entering the English Forum? This window could contain all the translations of our buttons, so that native speakers get a fast overview.

I hate popups. They´re just annoying...

Yeah. Popups are :kotz: and thus they won't be displayed in my browser =)

I suggest adding a kind of header to the forum, like the announcements in the forum overview - this should also be possible for the english forum.
It could contain translations for the most important buttons and a link to Asuka's translations as well.

How about a button to switch between the English and the German version of the board.
I think that´d be the easiest way to solve the problem, although i don´t know whether it can be done or not...

I doubt this is possible. But switching the whole board to English would be possible. And, as for me, this should be no problem for the German users.

Well, actually I'd prefer current instead of actual ;)

Let me ask one question: Why should there be an englisch speaking forum? Is it really necessary due to heavy demand for this?

But as someone already mentioned it's a nice way to get informed and learn something

"Kommentar"button should be replaced by a "comment"button in english reviews.
Someone should create something like that.

The back graphic is a little more difficult because I could find neither an "a" nor a "b".

but here is it possible to change the Board Language (german -> english) and specially the "kontrollzentrum" (aka the profile) language ?

It should be possible. I know WBB and phpBB and IPB can handle it, I'm not sure about vbulletin though.

The "kontrollzentrum" (aka the profile) language in first would be a good thing.
If i didn't know VBulletin a little, that would be rather difficult to navigate in the "kontrollzentrum" ;)

This will hopefully come with the next Forumsoftware-update. At the moment english language is not installed, so it can not be switched on.

I don´t know where exactly is the problem, the whole thread is about a few german phrases who are in most cases self-explained and which we have to change into english equivalents to please international users here, am I right?

Even though english is widely accepted, I´m against it, for the simple reason, that it isn´t too difficult to learn this few words,
I dont´think it requires huge efforts to do so.
Morever this is a german site and forum after all, I don´t think it goes too far to demand a little respect for our culture and language either, after all we all communicate in english.

It maybe sounds conservate, probably it is, but thats just my 2 cents.
