Woah! I still can't relly believe what you are writing, although it seems to be correct... I would habe thought about something like "Madagaskar" :D

But it is the same problem with "Suomi" - Finland. Both Hungary and Finland don't belong to the "indoeuropäischer" language area and so the native description doesn't even rudimentaly have to be alike "our" terms...

My dad's from Leipzig / East Germany, but he fled to the West in the early 60's with others of my German family. My mom's from Hong Kong, and that's where I am right now. Just working for three months, gather experience and have some fun. ;) A month ago I saw my Chinese grand cousin, who was coming over from the States to visit, the first time. My Chinese Grandparents live in New Zealand, so does my uncle. Some of my Chinese family lives in China, some in Hong Kong, but a lot are all over the world and I have no clue how much of my family I actually know.

Right now it is really hard to define what "home" is, because I am as much German as Hong Kong Chinese. Really hard to tell, but I am planning to study in Hong Kong.

As one of the four flags would be recognizable when all are put together in such a small image, it might be a good idea to make use of the GIF's animation feature.
This would also open the place for all the other countries with english as a main language, NZ for example.

Right, this get's complicated now:
I voted "another country", because
I was born and bred in Iserlohn, (West) Germany. My parents were stationed there.
My Grandfathers were chinese immigrants/refugees. My Grandmothers were Fijians. My parents are fijian with british citizenship. They shipped over here with the british army. I spent the first 6 years in british army life, then german civilian life i.e schools, friends, neighbours etc. So what the hell does that make me now? I feel british and german, but if war breaks out between us, well, bye germany ;)

There's also Samuel L. Jackson in it, wearing a kilt throughout the movie (rawrrrr!), a female assassin with the thickest Liverpool accent I've ever heard, lots of guns, rave parties, and one of the funniest sex scenes on celluloid. ;D

Something like "native German" does not exist, because almost all Europeans came with the "Völkerwanderung" (sorry) in the 7th century from Asia to Europe.
So you can say that there are no differences between the British, the French and the Germans. ;D

It is hard to learn, but even if you speak a very broken german, most people here will understand it. And most not-too-old people should understand and speak english. Theoretically. But you might want to speak slowly and clearly. And forget any special australian words, they aren't known here. (For example, if you say "garbo", germans think about Greta, and "barbie" is a doll...)

Hehe. I'm just use the german (letter) writing rule to capitalize all "Du/Sie" words.

Btw, I cannot change this. Because after a change of this poll we are losing all the foreign letters (japanese, chinese, russian, greece).

There is nothing, about any nation, to be proud of.
And if someone says: "...but those great men and women that achieved bla bla bla lived there.."
Well, thats not your acomplishment, so you shouldn't take proud in it.
