Today’s snapshot is all about increasing customization further, with new possibilities on the navigation toolbar and even more options for sound.

Navigation toolbar configuration
We have long planned to make individual buttons within our toolbars more configurable. Today we take a further step towards that goal by allowing you to turn off individual elements in the address toolbar. Just right click and remove them via the context menu. Now you can have a toolbar that displays only the buttons you need.

To reset the navigation toolbar back to its default state, right-click anywhere on the toolbar and select “Reset Toolbar to Default” or head to “Settings → Address Bar” and click on “Reset Navigation Toolbar to Default”.

Mute other tabs
You may ask, “Don’t we already have this‽”. Yes, we already have a keyboard shortcut and quick command to mute other tabs …but these only apply to the foreground tab. Now you can right click any background tab and mute all EXCEPT that tab. It may be a small thing, but it demonstrates that Vivaldi is in a league of its own with regards to fine grained control of tabs.

P.S. Oh and our Widevine problems on Linux are fixed. ��

Zwei Sachen sind mir aufgefallen nach dem Update:

Es gibt jetzt ein Suchfeld auf der Schnellwahl-Seite. Das kann man in den Optionen unter Suche wieder entfernen.

Und mit dem Update werden die Einzeltasten-Befehle deaktiviert. Muss man ggf. in den Optionen unter Tastatur wieder aktivieren. Das ist wohl ein Bug, ich melde den noch.

This is something that we know many of you have long requested. It allows you to ‘auto-stack’ tabs opened from a parent tab. You can enable this feature by searching for New Tab Position in Settings and enabling the “As Tab Stack With Related Tabs” option. Hi,
ich bin auf Versin 2.2.1388.37 (Stable channel) (64-bit) und nutze uBlock Origin. Ich sehe seit heute morgen auf Spiegel.de oder Golem.de wieder die komplette Werbung. Ist das normalNein, ist bei mir aber auch und noch viel besser: Auf Golen.de habe ich mit uBlock mehere Vodafone Werbebanner, deaktiviere ich es und lade die Seite neu sind die weg! :confused:

oder ist da schon dieses ominöse Chromium-Update schuld?Kann nicht sein denn das ist ja erst in der Planungsphase der neuen API.

Hmm, mal in den uBlock Einstellungen Caches leeren/Filter listen neu laden?

Ansonsten bin ich für Vivaldi inzwischen auf nanoBlock im Verbund mit nanoDefender umgestiegen.

Und einen neuen Snapshot gibt es auch :)

War aber ebenfalls zu faul die hier zu Posten, der Update Check funktioniert ja gut unter Windows, und unter Linux erledigt sich das von selbst :smile:

Wenn aber was Großes kommt werde ich das hier wieder posten

Nein, ist bei mir aber auch und noch viel besser: Auf Golen.de habe ich mit uBlock mehere Vodafone Werbebanner, deaktiviere ich es und lade die Seite neu sind die weg! :confused:

War bei mir mit Opera auch der Fall auf einer anderen Website. Einmal mit Strg+F5 neu laden hat das Problem behoben.

Im Prinzip sind ja alle die Vivaldis, Operas, Braves, Yandexs, Irons und wie sie alle heißen forks. Aber Gogle will ja das interface streichen. Tja, wird man sehen was passiert, weil irgendwann wird es zu aufwendig werden den eigenen fork mit dem interface zu pflegen.

Habe 2.4 Stable jetzt installiert und Folgendes fällt mir auf:
- Man kann die Buttons der Adressleiste (Vor, Zurück, Neu laden) nicht rechts der derselben positionieren.
- Den neuen Button für das User-Profil kann man nicht per Rechtsklick entfernen, man muss dafür in die Optionen (Einstellungen --> Adressleiste).
- Session Buddy zeigt sein Symbol nicht mehr an. Wenn man die Erweiterung deaktiviert und wieder aktiviert erscheint es für 1 Sekunde und ist wieder weg.

For today’s snapshot we made it easier to manage profiles, block ads that use abusive technologies, added support for Razer Chroma headsets, fixed a Twitter panel crash, and display issues with WhatsApp Web and Google.com.

Simpler profile management

In Vivaldi 2.4 we introduced support for User profiles. These allow multiple users to share one Vivaldi installation, without requiring you to log in to a different operating system user accounts, or maintain multiple, standalone installations. One early feature request was some easier way to change the avatar associated with your selected user profile. Many people also did not like the default set of avatars that we inherited from Chromium.

In Vivaldi 2.5 we started to use the avatar associated with your Vivaldi login to provide something more personal, that you could customise. However if you are not using sync with one (or more) of your profiles, you were still stuck with the default Chromium set and the experience for switching was a little messy.

So now we are giving you new options for non-synced profiles, and making it easier for you to select between them. You can switch between the new avatars or add and delete further profiles right from within the pop-out dialog.

Blocking ‘Abusive’ advertising

Nobody likes advertising but some can be downright dangerous. In Chromium 71, new functionality was added to block adverts from providers that use abusive technologies (designed to be misleading). This was not a feature we could simply turn on in Vivaldi because the blocklist was not provided to us via the same method that Chrome receives it. We have now done the necessary work to implement this in Vivaldi, with the blocklist fetched directly from our servers (though, the list itself is compiled by, and originates from Google).

The feature is enabled by default and can be turned off in the ‘Privacy’ section of settings.

Spoofing fixes

From time to time a website will decide to block Vivaldi users from accessing their pages or present a different (usually worse) version of their site. They can do this by looking at our ‘User Agent’. The User Agent is a piece of information that is sent from the browser to the website when it connects.

Sometimes the development team of a website will naïvely assume that only tested browsers should be given access to their site. Since Vivaldi is based on current web standards and uses an up to date copy of Chromium/Blink (one of the most popular rendering engines), there is usually no good reason to block us, but it happens nonetheless, with relative frequency.

To avoid such annoyances we present a fake (spoofed) User Agent on a handful of websites who have been unresponsive to our requests to stop blocking our users. In Vivaldi 2.5 a change in how networking connections work (inherited from Chromium) meant that this spoofing was no longer effective on some websites and thus our users encountered these problems once again. We have now fixed our built in spoofing, so that WhatsApp Web and Google.com should once again display as intended.

Razer Chroma headsets

In Vivaldi 2.5 we added support for Razer Chroma devices on Windows. This support did not extent to headsets. To be honest, we weren’t sure that anyone would care about the lights changing on your headset to match your tabs, given you can’t typically see the change when you have them on your head. Well… it turns out that some of you do! And who are we to judge? We make this browser for our users and if you want it, you can have it! So from today’s snapshot we have support for Razer Chroma headsets. Enjoy!

Ist ja open source, sie können theopraktisch ja das addon interface in ihrer Variante von chrome belassen. gibt es da schon eine Aussage von vivaldi?

Das Problem ist, daß Chromium zwar OSS ist, aber Google gibt da schon den Ton an. Vivaldi hat grad den Vorteil, daß sie einfach den Chrome Store benutzen können. Wenn das nicht mehr möglich ist, dann besteht eigentlich keine Chance, daß mehr als eine Handvoll Entwickler bereit ist für einen Nischenbrowser wie Vivaldi extra Erweiterungen zu schreiben.

Nicht mal Microsoft hat es geschafft die Appentwickler dazu zu bringen für Windows Phone zu entwickeln, und beim Browser haben sie jetzt auch kapituliert und gehen auf Chrome.

So lange Google das psychologische Internetmonopol hat können die halt machen was sie wollen. Für viele ist Google ja ein Synonym für alles im Internet außer Facebook, und Leute die Internetseiten direkt in die Adressleiste eintippen sind fast schon Hacker an der Grenze zum bösen Darknet :freak: Grad neulich von jemandem gehört, daß deren Tante den Dropboxlink nicht abrufen konnte weil sie ihn in das Googlesuchefeld gepastet hat und nicht in die Adressleiste :rolleyes:

Sind auf jedenfall wieder hochspannende (und letztlich auch hochpolitische) Entwicklungen. Im Idealfall gibt es halt einen Chromium Fork, wo dann einmal Google (und evtl. MS mit dem neuen Edge) ihr Werbenetzwerk ausbauen, und auf der anderen Seite Vivaldi, Brave und wer auch immer ihre eigene Version weiterentwickeln. Das Vivalditeam ist ja was Render Engines angeht nicht gänzlich jungfräulich. Vermutlich wird dann trotzdem früher oder später nicht mehr alles perfekt außerhalb der monopolistischen Browser auf Googlebasis laufen (wäre ja nicht das erste mal), und als nicht Mainstreamnutzer wird man halt wieder in die Nerd/Hacker/Darknetnutzer Ecke gedrängt. Kann ich aber mit leben, ich komme eigentlich auch ganz gut ohne Web 2.0 (oder wie auch immer die Zentralisierung der Inhalte bei privaten Firmen gerade genannt wird) aus.

sieht im moment aus als wollte die mozilla foudnation einen auf Fremium browser amche oder sowas. Gegen einen Brauser zum bezahlen habe Ich ja nichts, Ich habe damals auch Opera gekauft. War ein gutes produkt, schnell usw. War das Geld wert. Aber in einer welt in der browser scheinbar gratis angeboten werden hat man damit eben keine Chance als Anbieter. Und die Anbieter müssen ja auch ihre Brötchen bezahlen.

Ich würde ja auch für Vivaldi bezahlen. Gerade wegen dervielen Updates würde sich ja ein Model mit regelmäßgem Beitrag anbieten. Oder für Firefox, wenn sie mal tatsächlich den Browser verbesserten und bugfixten anstatt immer neues Gedöns dranzubasteln.

Das Problerm ist, das Microsoft effektiv aufgegeben hat einen eigenen Browser zu entwickeln, weil die dinger zu kompliziert und umfangreich geworden sind. Deswegen hat Opera ja auch die eigene engine gekillt. Firefox stöhnt auch, kann aber noch mithalten. Die Projekte brauchen so viel Arbeit, daß das kaum jemand noch darstellen kann. Effektiv nur noch Mozilla und Google.

Wenn man die Leute darauf hinweist, daß sie nciht Kunde sind, sondern das verkaufte Produkt der Werbeanbieter, die zum Ködern Dienste anbieten, wird man nur komisch angeguckt. Es will keiner hören, obwohl es eigentlich jeder weiss. Echt schöne Konsumenten hat man sich da herangezüchtet. Wenn sie dann mal an die Grenzen des Käfigs stoßen, wird aber wieder geheult.

Jupp, hab damals auch Opera genutzt, würde ebenfalls für Vivaldi zahlen.

Allerdings könnte man hier dann auch argumentieren, daß Features/Gimmicks wie das ansteuern von Hue-LED Lampen nicht unbedingt im Preis inbegriffen sein müssten ;) Ähnlich werden das wohl viele auch mit dem Mail Klienten sehen der irgendwie noch auf sich warten läßt.

Allerdings ist es vermutlich heutzutage so, daß ein bezahlter Browser schlicht von so Wenigen genutzt würde, daß sich dann selbst bei einem Nischenprodukt wie Vivaldi die Werbeeinnahmen durch Suchmaschinen etc. mehr lohnen. Also lieber ein paar Millionen "Gratis" Anwender als ein paar Tausend Abonnenten...

Es macht null Sinn Chromium zu forken. Man verwendet Chromium ja überhaupt erst weil man keinen Bock hat die Webplattform zu entwickeln sondern da einfach auf dem Rücken Googles arbeiten zu können. Mit einem Fork von Chromium würde man das alles wieder verlieren. Microsoft hat bewiesen, dass sie das nicht wollen, alle anderen können es gar nicht leisten.

Klar können jetzt die kleinen Fische versuchen, die API sozusagen gegen Google weiterzuführen. Bis Upstream ein so großer Blocker kommt, der das komplett unrealistisch macht. Da ist wohl keiner der Hersteller ganz ehrlich mit den Kunden, IMO sind das reine Durchhalteparolen, die man mittelfristig wird zurücknehmen müssen. Vom Problem, dass man einen eigenen Addon-Store mit eigens weiterentwickelten Erweiterungen bräuchte ganz zu schweigen.

Am Firefox-Browser wird sich nichts ändern. Die irreführenden Pressemeldungen kommen daher, dass Mozilla den Namen Firefox jetzt als übergreifende Brand für andere Produkte verwendet, unter denen der Firefox Browser eben nur ein Produkt ist. Ein möglicher kostenpflichtiger VPN wäre dann ein weiteres Produkt unter dem Markennamen Firefox.

Aber das zu verstehen hätte halt wieder sowas wie minimale Recherche erfordert, deshalb haben es alle falsch voneinander abgeschrieben...

naja "nicht ganz geheuer" trifft es für mich nicht, aber sie entwickeln den Firefox für mich in die falsche Richtung.

Bleibt dann nur noch Opera übrig, die haben den Werbeblocker ja direkt eingebaut.

Das System könnte Vivaldi ja auch umsetzen. Vielleicht tun sie sich dafür ja zusammen.

Was soll Ich mit dem "abusive ads blocker" wenn Ich sowieso schon uBlock und uMatrix benutze?

Das multiuser ding verstehe Ich auch nicht, sind wir hier noch bei windows95? Oder XP, daß immernbohc programmiert wird als wäre es ein singleuser system?

Das Vivalditeam ist ja was Render Engines angeht nicht gänzlich jungfräulich.Doch eigentlich schon. ;)
Verwechsle das Team von Vivaldi mal nicht mit dem von Opera (heute und damals).
Opera hatte mit Presto seine eigenen Engine, die sie aus den schon genannten Komplexitätsgründen aufgaben. Das heutige Opera ist - oder war zumindest vor ein paar Jahren - einer der größten Beiträger zu Chromium.
Vivaldi machen an der Renderengine afaik absolut gar nichts, die entwickeln "nur" tolle UI-Features mit Node.js und React.js.

Allerdings ist es vermutlich heutzutage so, daß ein bezahlter Browser schlicht von so Wenigen genutzt würde, daß sich dann selbst bei einem Nischenprodukt wie Vivaldi die Werbeeinnahmen durch Suchmaschinen etc. mehr lohnen. Also lieber ein paar Millionen "Gratis" Anwender als ein paar Tausend Abonnenten...Stimmt, das hat Opera Software damals ja auch erkannt und bot den Browser komplett gratis und ohne Werbung an.

Opera hatte mit Presto seine eigenen Engine, die sie aus den schon genannten Komplexitätsgründen aufgaben. Das heutige Opera ist - oder war zumindest vor ein paar Jahren - einer der größten Beiträger zu Chromium.

Soweit Ich weiss ist eigentlich nur der Chef und GRünder Jon v. Tetzchenr (bestimmt falsch geschrieben) von Opera.

Stimmt, das hat Opera Software damals ja auch erkannt und bot den Browser komplett gratis und ohne Werbung an.

In einem Markt der "gratis" browser ist es auch praktisch unmöglich mit einem Bezahlbrowser zu bestehen.

Die nutzt aber nicht jeder.

hm ja stimmt, aber bei einem nischenbrowser wie Vivaldi würde Ich da die Quote schon höher einschätzen als bei Chrome oder IE oder firefox. müssen aber die vivaldi Leuts offenbar als nötig sehen.

Könnt Ihr eigentlich mit 2.6.1566.49 von SourceForge runterladen?

Der grüne Kreis sollte in fünf Sekundenabschnitten weniger werden und dann der Download starten. Klappt so im IE, in Vivaldi passiert aber nix.

Ja, sobald die Seite aufgerufen wird dreht der grüne Kreis und der Counter geht runter. Der verharrt dann eine Weile auf Null und irgendwann wird der DL gestartet.

Bei mir dreht sich der grüne Kreis wahnsinnig schnell auf 0 (eher eine halbe Sekunde als 5), und dann kommt auch recht flott der Downloaddialog.

Nutze allerdings den aktuellsten Snapshot (2.7.1628.12). U-Block als einzige Erweiterung. Oh, und 64-Bit, falls relevant :confused:

Ist ja noch die Beta.

Hab aber grad mal getestet, Extensions gehen auch über den Chrome Web Store nicht (unsupported).

Kommt hoffentlich beides noch, genauso wie sie es einem irgendwann hoffentlich erlauben die Adressleiste unten zu platzieren. Nachdem ich kürzlich für nur wenige Tage mein Lumia 950 als Backup nutzen mußte war ein ganzes Jahr Umgewöhnung wieder für die Katz. Hab bisher auch keinen Androidbrowser gefunden der das kann (Brave, Fennec, Kiwi...)

Von daher bin ich froh, daß bei Vivaldi wenigstens der SpeedDial Knopf unten plaziert ist ;)

Ansonsten gefällt es mir bisher, vor allem, daß sie gleich Notizen und Sync mit drin haben. Das erspart mir erstmal die Suche nach und Einrichtung von einer dedizierten Notizapp :up:

Windows Phone/Edge hat die Adressleiste dann einfach mit der Tastatur aufgeklappt, so dass die trotzdem sichtbar blieb. Kann natürlich sein, dass das unter Android unmöglich ist :freak: hab ich mir ehrlich gesagt noch nie Gedanken drüber gemacht das das ein Problem sein könnte weil das unter Windows so selbstverständlich funktioniert. Und auch einfach nur Sinn ergibt.

Ist aber erfreulicherweise eines der meist erwünschten Features im Vivaldi Android Forum, bin da also noch alleine :smile:

Bei meinem Opera für Android geht es zumindest so.
Das mit dem Search/Enter klappt tatsächlich ganz gut :smile:

Was es bringt? Es erleichtern die Bedienung ungemein. Man hat die Hand ja eh da unten. Unter Windows Phone waren(sind) fast alle Bedienelemente die man häufig nutzt am unteren Rand angeordnet. Und was soll ich sagen, das ist einfach besser. Bin vor einem Jahr auf Android umgestiegen, hatte also lange Zeit mich umzugewohnen, aber nachdem ich kürzlich mein Androidhandy ein schicken musste und die Zeit mit dem Lumia überbrückt habe war das Jahr Umgewöhnung innerhalb kürzester Zeit dahin.

Das ist vergleichbarmit Applenutzern die lange Zeit nicht wussten wofür man mehr als eine Maustaste braucht. Aber zurück zur 1-Tastenmaus will jetzt wohl niemand mehr ;)

Ich hatte ja mal überlegt, Vivaldi zum Hauptbrowser zu machen. Was mich aber etwas stört ist die Menüleiste. Da kann man nicht wie bei anderen die einzelnen Menüpunkte "durchblättern", sondern muss auf jeden Menüpunkt einzeln klicken.

Wow. Ich nehme aber an, dass die Lesezeichenleiste immer noch so rudimentär wie damals ist? :wink:

Mir persönlich fehlen da essenzielle Funktionen, darunter die Möglichkeit, mit einem Mittelklick auf einen Unterordner alle darin enthaltenen Lesezeichen zu öffnen.

Hab's grad mal probiert: Das Öffnen per Mittelklick funktioniert.

Edit: Allgemein habe ich das Gefühl, daß relativ viele Änderungen an den Lesezeichen aufgrund von Feedback der Nutzer vorgenommen wurden. Ich selber nutze die Lesezeichenleiste kaum bis gar nicht, kann deshalb nicht genau sagen was sich verändert hat, beim überfliegen der Changelogs ist "Bookmark" aber ein relativ häufiges Schlagwort ;)

Jo. Braucht noch recht viel Akku und hat keinen Extensionsupport.

Ich nutze den zuhause im WLAN hinter einem Pi-Hole, unterwegs dann doch lieber einen Browser mit Adblocker. Erschreckend wenn man dann nach Ewigkeiten mal wieder ohne Werbeblocker unterwegs ist und sieht wie überfrachtet selbst mobile Seiten sind :(

Edit: Lässt sich irgendwie nicht so leicht reproduzieren. Wenn ich meine aktuelle Sitzung mit ca. 50 Tabs schließe und öffne, dann verschwinden links immer ein paar Tabs (auch angeheftete). Wenn ich aber ein neues Fenster aufmache und da zum Test 5 Google-Tabs öffne, dann bleiben alle erhalten nach einem Neustart. Doof, wollte eigentlich einen Bugreport schreiben.

Ich habe/hatte den auch. Etwa zwei dutzend tabs geöffnet und mit jedem Start wurden es weniger. Ich hoffe das ist jetzt repariert. sowohl MINT19.3 als auch Win7 hatte ich den bug. Kann sein, daß dein vivaldi unter Ubuntu noch eine ältere Version war? Naja egal. Jetzt gefixt.

Nach einer Windowsneuinstallation möchte ich die zuvor als .csv exportierten Webseitenpasswörter nun wieder in Vivaldi importieren. Das Internet sagt, dass ich dazu die Flag vivaldi://flags/#password-import auf enabled stellen soll. Sie existiert aber nicht und in einem Beitrag stand, dass sie in neueren Chromium-Versionen entfernt wurde. Hat jemand einen praktikablen Tipp um die Passwörter doch nicht alle händisch eingeben zu müssen?

Da Firefox 72 zurzeit Performance-Probleme aufweist, nahm ich das zum Anlass, nach Langem mal wieder in Vivaldi (2.10 Stable) reinzuschauen. Das Teil hat sich ja echt gemausert. Standalone-Option im Setup inklusive Möglichkeit, den Browser als Standard festzulegen. Eine endlich brauchbare Lesezeichenleiste, die fast auf Augenhöhe mit der von Firefox ist. Viele Individualisierungsoptionen. Werde die nächste Zeit mal testen, wie sich Vivaldi im Alltag schlägt.

Feature-seitig vermisse ich (bisher) nur noch wenig: Zoomstufen werden pro Website nicht Session-übergreifend beibehalten. Cookie-Whitelist und manche andere Website-Optionen sind noch immer nur über Umwege zugänglich, bzw. ist's inzwischen sogar komplizierter geworden. Vorher reichte es, chrome://settings/content oder vivaldi://settings/content in die Adresszeile einzugeben. Zurzeit geht's wohl nur noch so: In der Adressleiste aufs Schlosssymbol einer beliebigen offenen Seite klicken -> Website-Einstellungen -> Datenschutz & Sicherheit -> Website-Einstellungen. Scrollen per Mausrad (Drehen, nicht Klick) ist zudem vergleichsweise unzureichend und lässt sich auch nicht in Vivaldi einstellen.

Ich hab hier vor kurzem mal das aktuelle Opera installiert gehabt, weil Firefox seit 72 irgend wie alle Videos verkackt. Mein letztes Opera war 12 und seit dem hat sich da doch so einiges verändert.
Was sind dazu im Vergleich die Unterschiede zwischem dem aktuellen Opera und diesem Vivaldi?

Opera ist doch nur noch ein China-Ausverkauf der Marke, nach den letzten Geschäftszahlen darf man eine Existenz in der Zukunft anzweifeln.
Wenn Chromium, dann imho entweder Vivaldi oder der neue Edge, wenn man mit MS kein Problem hat.

Eigentlich hat man ja am PC immer die Uhrzeit irgendwo parat, aber ao ein kleiner Timer kann ganz praktisch sein wenn man was auf dem Herd/im Ofen hat.Da ich die Taskleiste automatisch ausblenden lasse, gefällt mir das. Hatte ich schon im alten Opera unten in der Ecke der Statusleiste. Und der Timer/Wecker ist ne tolle Idee! :)

Jupp. Bin nach einem Tag schon sehr angetan. Man kann die Uhr übrigens mit gedrückter Shift-Taste auch andernorts platzieren. Nett wäre es zudem, wenn man Alarm/Timer Menü ins Side-Panel integrieren könnte.

Ich warte zwar immer noch auf den E-Mail Client, muss aber bestehen, dass der immer unwichtiger für mich wird. Dafür gab es mittlerweile diverse kleinere und größere Features die ich richtig gut finde, und von denen ich vorher gar nicht wußte, daß ich sie brauche :D

Nutze auch ublock, pihole & co, aber mehr Optionen können nicht schaden. Interessant ist das für mich vor allem für die Android Version.

Was allgemeine Werbeblocker angeht, so ist Vivaldi da glaube ich gerade in Lauerstellung, weil unklar ist wie Google/Chromium da zukünftig agieren werden:

Ist halt Android-Chromium mit geringfügig anderem UI und zumindest teilweise (oder ganz?) "entgooglet". Mit dem Quasi-Adblocker aus dem aktuellen Snapshot also eine ziemlich runde Sache.
Dummerweise will mit dem Snapshot gerade die Cloud-Sync nicht (Edit: Lag am Server).

Opera Mobile seit Ewigkeiten nicht genutzt. Seit dem Umstieg auf Chromium und dem Besitzerwechsel hab ich eigentlich immer Firefox genutzt, am PC wie am Handy. Am Handy dann seit einer Weile Brave.

Ich nutze Vivaldi Android derzeit mangels AdBlocker und Erweiterungssupport nur hinter meinem PiHole, bzw. unterwegs nur für Seiten wie das 3DCenter, Fefe etc.

Bin aber bisher sehr zufrieden, und habe eigentlich keine Probleme. Die Notizfunktion samt Sync ist praktisch und wird gern von mir genutzt, das Tab-Management gefällt mir besser als bei Brave (den ich unterwegs für die meisten Seiten nutze). Aber wenn man Sync und die Notizfunktion nicht nutzt hat er, glaube ich, noch keine echten Alleinstellungsmerkmale gegenüber anderen chromiumbasierten Androidbrowsern

Habe heute ein Update gemacht, das mir angeboten wurde. Seitdem ist Vivaldi bei mir komplett kaputt:

1. Kann keine Youtube-Videos mehr abspielen
2. Beim Neustart sind alle Tabs geschlossen, die vorher auf waren (obwohl andere Einstellung), teilweise sind die veschluckten Tabs noch im internen "Taskmamanger" sichtbar, in der Liste der geschlossenen Tabs tauchen sie aber nicht auf. Als jemand der immer so 20 Tabs offen lässt und die jedes Mal wieder neu rauspicken muss super nervig
3. Downloads führen zu Aufhängern, wo ich dann einen Dialog mit einem "Force restart"-Button bekomme. Den muss ich drücken, weil alles andere blockiert ist. Neu starten tut der Browser dann aber nicht, sondern der Download fängt wie gewohnt hat. Oder aber die Seite hängt sich auf, auch schon erlebt.
4. Teilweise erzeugen einige Seiten (9gag) horrende CPU-Last, selbst nach dem Schließen. Hatte teilweise 70% CPU-Last auf meinem 2700X mit 6-8 offenen Tabs.

Jemand noch so krasse Probleme? Hoffe die fixen das schnell, ansonsten muss ich den wohl neu installieren :rolleyes:.

Update steht nicht in meinem Verlauf drin und wird mir auch nicht angeboten. Das Problem trat auch erst seit heute auf, unmittelbar nach dem Vivaldi-Update. Aber ist ja nicht nur hohe CPU-Last, sondern auch funktionale Bugs in Vivaldi. Hätte zur Not einen Wiederherstellungspunkt vom 30.03. mal schauen...

Edit: Heute kam ein neues Update raus: Punkte 1 bis 3 sind behoben, Punkt 4 besteht aber vielleicht liegt es auch an den Seiten selbst.

In den Kommentaren des letzten Updates werden deine Fehler aber auch nicht erwähnt. Daher traue ich mich jetzt mal ans Update.

Nehme an Du nutzt die Stable Version von Vivaldi unter Windows, dann ruf die Seiten doch einfach mal im Edge Browser auf. Jedenfalls habe ich keine der geschilderten Probleme bei mir, nutze aber auch eine komplett andere Konfiguration (Snapshot unter Linux).

Für den Desktop gibt es den Versionsnummernsprung auf 3.0, da dürfte also bald die stabile Version mit Ad- und Trackingblocker eintrudeln. Eventuell gibt es bei der Gelgenheit dann ja auch zeitnah die stabile Version für Android, wobei ich da, genau wie am Desktop, mit den Snapshots bisher keine größeren Stabilitätsprobleme oder ähnliches habe.

Warum nicht? Nicht jeder Browser hat integriertes Adblocking, und die Trackingblocking Lösung von Vivaldi ist auch nicht 08/15. Mit den API Änderungen die Google vorhat könnte das demnächst nochmal relevanter werden.

Außerdem gibt es ja noch eine ganze Menge anderer kleinerer und größerer Veränderungen, und wie gesagt könnte auch eine finale Androidversion der Anlaß für den Versionssprung sein.

Den würde ich erwarten wenn endlich mal der E-Mail-Client kommt... Von dem hört man aber auch nix mehr.

Da hat sich Herr von Tetzchner tatsächlich in den Kommentaren zum heutigen Snapshot zu geäußert (https://vivaldi.com/blog/snapshots/desktop/popout-video-progress-bar-improvements-3-0-1874-3/#post-360416): "M3 is coming soon, but not as part of 3.0."

Er ist da ziemlich vorsichtig. Wenn man in den Vivaldi Foren stöbert, dann ist der Stand derzeit:

Jon von Tetzchner möchte nicht, daß ein Produkt veröffentlicht wird, daß eventuell E-Mails der Nutzer frißt oder sonst irgendwie unsicher ist, nichtmal als Alpha/Beta/Snapshot. <--- Kann ich nachvollziehen, denn ein E-Mail Client ist was anderes als ein, salopp gesagt, besseres UI für den Chromium Browser. Da kann deutlich mehr schiefgehen, und beim Browser sind die allermeisten kritischen Bereiche eben durch Chromium geregelt.

Allerdings dürfte eine öffentliche Testversion nicht mehr in allzuferner Zukunft liegen. Ich schaue alle paar Wochen mal nach, und beim letzten Mal klang es deutlich mehr nach "sehr bald" als nach "when its donetm" :smile:

Bleibt nur die Frage, ob wir dann innerhalb eines Jahres zwei volle Versionssprünge bekommen, oder ob M3 dann erstmal für ein Jahr nur in den Snapshots verfügbar ist. Oder gar als eigenständiges Programm erscheint? :uponder:

Ich vermute, dass die massive Performanceprobleme haben weil der Client auch nur als Browsercode läuft, wie das ganze UI (Node.js, React.js, ect.).

Och, gegen ein vernünftiges E-Mail Programm hätte ich nichts einzuwenden.

Thunderbird, Outlook, Kontact... Irgendwie bin ich da mit keinem richtig warm geworden, und die Web-Oberflächen sind auch nicht immer ideal. Thunderbird ist irgendwie nicht meins, Outlook fällt mittlerweile raus, da ich Windows nur noch zum Zocken und für Videobearbeitung nutze.

Dazu kommt, daß ich aus diversen Gründen (Beruf, Privatsphäre, Spam...) mit mehreren E-Mail Adressen jongliere, da würde es auch nicht schaden, wenn ich eine davon auslagern könnte. Momentan arbeite ich mit KDE Kontact, und da muß man schon vorsichtig sein, daß man nicht aus Versehen eine E-Mail von der falschen Identität abschickt.

Aber mal schauen. Wirklich brauchen tue ich M3 auch nicht, und ich habe ohnehin kaum eine Vorstellung davon, was da letztendlich bei rumkommt.

Bis ich damals zum ersten mal eine der frühen Opera Versionen installiert habe wusste ich auch nicht, daß ich Tabbed Browsing, SpeedDials oder Mausgeseten "brauche" ;)

Hmm, bei mir funzt Vivaldi 3.0 einwandfrei, ich nutzte allerdings auch kein zoom.us
Geht es denn mit Chrome(ium)?

Der Android Browser ist aber noch nicht ganz ausgereift. Zum einen empfinde ich Opera Mobile als schneller. Zum anderen muss das UI noch ein wenig verbessert werden, z.B. kann ich im Landscape-Modus nicht die URL aus der Adresszeile kopieren, weil der Button dann von der sich öffnenden Tastatur verdeckt ist.
Am seltsamsten ist aber, dass der Werbeblocker nicht nur nicht funktioniert sondern nicht mal mein Werbeblocker via hosts-Datei zu wirken scheint und die sollte doch global sein!? Zumindest das Forum hier und ComputerBase sind voller Werbung, mit Opera Mobile ist nix.

Another powerful feature of Vivaldi is Notes. This was already great for research while surfing. Previously added features had already extended it past basic note taking, with links to pages, screenshots, and even basic formatting using Markdown. Vivaldi für Android gibts jetzt als stabile Version 3.1 (https://vivaldi.com/blog/vivaldi-browser-updates-on-android/).

Größte Neuerung ist wohl der native Dark Mode für Webseiten. Gibts seit ein paar Tagen schon in der Snapshot Version und funktioniert sehr gut.

Seit dem sie den AdBlocker hinzugefügt haben ist Vivaldi jetzt nicht mehr nur am PC mein Standardbrowser :smile:

Gibt zwar immer noch ein paar Kleinigkeiten beim mobilen Browser die verbessert werden könnten, trotzdem bietet der für mich jetzt schon das beste Gesamtpaket, vor allem dank Sync und Notizfunktion.

Die einzigen, die zumindest in der Beta schon Chromium 83 nutzen scheinen Vivaldi und Brave zu sein. Wobei der Blocker bei Vivaldi immer noch nichts tut, er blockt jedenfalls keine Werbung.

Genau wegen so etwas bleib ich lieber beim Fuchs. Auch mit der Android-Version von Chromium hatte ich so manches Mal crashende Tabs, kenn ich von Firefox Stable-Versionen so praktisch gar nicht.

Ich habe Grafikfehler seit dem letzten Update. Chrome, Edge und Firefox laufen normal. Weiß einer was ich da machen könnte? Sobald ich etwas scrolle oder klicke ist es weg, dann kommen wieder Artefakte... Sehr merkwürdig. :confused::redface:

Hat jemand seit ner Woche oder so auch einen extrem langsamen Verlauf? Bei mir dauert das es schon 10 Sekunden bis der Verlauf nach öffnen responsiv ist. Sobald ich was eintippe (erster Buchstabe) hängt er direkt wieder und es dauert ewig, bis er die Suchergebnisse anzeigt. Ich tippe normalerweise einfach weiter (auch wenn ich nicht sehen kann was ich tippe) und warte dann ~10 Sekunden bis er sich ausgeklüngelt hat. Das war früher definitiv nicht so. Und nein, ich habe da nicht den Verlauf bis 1998 drin :D.

Edit: Hatte den Stromsparmodus von Windows noch an. Ohne den sind es "nur" noch 5 Sekunden. Trotzdem sehr viel hakeliger als früher.

Irgendwas stimmt bei 3.3 nicht mit den Favicons oder liegt es am Forum?

Wenn ich einen neuen Foren-Tab im Hintergrund öffne, kringelt das Favicon unendlich. Wenn ich den Tab dann anklicke hört das Kringeln auf und es kommt das weiße Blatt als sein kein Favicon vorhanden. Oben in der Adressleiste steht immer noch z.B. "187 KB 13/13", als sei die Seite noch nicht fertig geladen. Wenn ich das dann mit klick auf X abbreche erscheint das Favicon. :confused:
Auf anderen Seiten wie ComputerBase ist alles okay.
Den Cache habe ich schon gelöscht oder wo werden die Favicons gespeichert?

Sorry :( Hab übrigens im Vivaldi for Android auch manchmal "durchdrehende" Favicons, das sind für mich aber eher Kleinigkeiten bei denen ich einfach davon ausgehe, daß sie demnächst behoben werden.

Wird/wurde auch im Vivaldi Forum kritisiert/diskutiert. Ich findes ehrlich gesagt nicht tragisch sondern auf dem Niveau eher sympathisch. Hätten sie da irgendein mini Game von bspw. EA, mit Werbung, Micropayments etc. reingepackt, dann würde ich auf die Barrikaden gehen. So gestehe ich den Entwicklern aber einfach ein bißchen Verspieltheit und isländischen Lokalpatriotismus zu :smile:

Gehe davon aus, daß es demnächst wieder verschwinden wird.

Das Spiel stammt wohl von einer kleinen isländischen Firma (https://www.porcelainfortress.com), also wird das auch kaum Resourcen von der eigentlichen Vivaldi-Entwicklung abgezogen haben. Man kann es auch im Menü deaktivieren, dann wird es zumindest nicht mehr angezeigt.

Jetzt hab ich auch mal einen interessanten Bug, der sich, wenn ich mich recht entsinne, schon seit mehreren Monaten hält. Betrifft sogar dieses Forum (auch vor dem Serverumzug).

Wenn ich beim Verfassen eines Beitrags die erweiterte Smiley Liste öffne und dann, ohne das sich dadurch geöffnet habende Browserpopupfenster wieder zu schließen, auf "Antworten" klicke schließt sich Vivaldi. Zumindest das Hauptfenster, das Emoji-Popupfenster bleibt offen, zeigt aber keinen Inhalt mehr an.

Der Beitrag wird aber noch übermittelt.

CalDav mit mailbox.org habe ich jetzt nich auf Anhieb zum laufen gebracht, und Kontaktverwaltung muss ich mich auch noch einarbeiten.

Da ich aber für die Verwaltung divereser E-Mail Adressen inzwischen eh bei KDE Kontact gelandet bin kommt der Client eigentlich 2-3 Jahre "zu spät", aber so bin ich unter Windows nicht mehr auf Webmail angewiesen :up:

Mal schauen, wenn sich der E-Mail Client ähnlich gut weiterentwickelt wie der Browser kann er dann ja evtl. in 2-3 Jahren Kontact wieder ablösen. Wirklich toll ist das nämlich auch nicht :smile:

Rudimentär war vielleicht das falsche Wort.

Bisher wirkt es flott und übersichtlich. Mehrere Mail Accounts sind möglich, alle e-Mail sind leicht durchsuchbar, E-Mail Managment selbst ist vorbildlich.

Was ich aber nicht gefunden habe ist bspw. eine Möglichkeit, Plain Text E-Mails zu verfassen, und auch das Nutzen mehrerer Identitäten/Aliasse unter einem Account scheint (noch) nicht möglich.

Das sind aber eher Nischenwünsche/Spezialfälle. Für den Alltag reicht es allemal.

Edit2: CalDav funktioniert jetzt, wirft aber trotzdem eine Fehlermeldung aus. Interessant.

Edit3: Bin gespannt wann und wie PGP implementiert wird. Daß es implementiert wird scheint ja recht sicher :smile:

Seit dem letzten Update (auf V3.6.2165.40) sind bei mir plötzlich die Scrollbalken auf sämtlichen Seiten verschwunden. Beim Laden der Seite werden sie noch angezeigt, wenn die Seite fertig geladen ist, verschwindet sie aber. Weiß jemand, wie ich die Leiste wieder bekomme? Ist das ein bekannter Bug?

Bei mir hat's bei der ersten Nutzung der neuen Version die seit Wochen problemlos genutzte Session zerschossen woraufhin Vivaldi nicht mehr startete. Musste die Session aus dem Nutzerverzeichnis löschen damit es wieder läuft.
edit: Bizarr. Das Problem lag an der Vivaldi-Verknüpfung in der Taskleiste (dessen Ziel man offenbar nicht ohne weiteres einsehen kann). Sie hatte bislang stets funktioniert. Mit der Verknüpfung auf dem Desktop startete Vivaldi einwandfrei. Und nachdem ich die in der Taskleiste per Drag&Drop vom Desktop erneuert habe, geht's auch von dort wieder. Das verstehe, wer will.

Das fehlende 3DCentersymbol habe ich ebenfalls.

PS: Nach der angekündigten Verbesserung der Performance werde ich Vivaldi mal wieder eine Chance geben, das hat mich bisher wirklich gestört im Vergleich zu Opera.

Ja, da haben die irgendwas verbockt diesmal. Hab auch an verschiedenen PCs Probleme mit dem Taskleistensymbol. Aber nur in der 3.7 stable, Snapshot geht glaub weiterhin.

Mit der Windows-Version geht Hardware-Decoding immer noch nur bei automatischer Videoqualität. Stelle ich händisch auf hoch (etwa tagesschau.de), nutzt er nur noch Software Decoding. Stinknormales H.264, geht in allen anderen Browser...

4players habe ich ein icon und ausser dem 3D Center ist mir das bisher auch nicht aufgefallen..

umbennant (die war 9MB groß) -
wurde nach restart neu erstellt, alle Seiten haben nach einem reload ein favicon, nur das 3dCenter(und Forum) nicht.

Ich dachte ja erst, dass es passiert ist, seit ich mit einer nicht aktuellen Version von CCleaner aufgeräumt hatte. Aber wenn ihr das auch alle habt...

Habe jetzt Vivaldi 3.7 installiert und wenn ich etwas aus oder in die Adresszeile kopieren will, friert der Browser das UI für ca. 30 Sekunden ein. :rolleyes:
Ein Video in einem anderen Tab spielt aber weiter.

Was mir etwas irriterend aufgefallen ist mit 3.7, daß wenn man eine URL im FLießtext markiert und in einem Fenster oder Tab öffnen will steht da jetzt im Kontextmenü "Gehe nach ...URL" an Stelle des vorher verwendeten "Öffne ...URL". Murksige Maschinenübersetzung? An ein paar anderen Stellen hat sich der Text auch geändert.

Aber dort gibt's wenigstens eine Rückmeldung. Nicht wie Opera, denen ist mittlerweile fast alles egal. :frown:

Das bezieht sich nur auf den Browser-Neustart. Ich dachte, dass es zumindest ähnlich ist wie damals im guten alten Opera 12.
Der hat sich nämlich die Suche auch per Kontextmenü pro Tab gemerkt und gespeichert bis dieser geschlossen wurde. Danach wurde bei einem neuen Tab wieder die Standardsuche gesetzt. Zusätzlich konnte man mit "Strg" und/oder "Shift" als Modifikator die Suche als neuen Tab (+ im Hintergrund) oder neues Fenster öffnen.

"Strg" + "Shift" geht im Vivaldi auch, jedoch nur aus dem separaten Suchfeld heraus. Schade.

PS: Der Schwachsinn seit Chromium 7x das bei markiertem Text inkl. Zeilenumbruch dieser nicht mehr durch ein Leerzeichen im Adressfeld ersetzt wird ist im Vivaldi zum Glück behoben. Zweimal von mir an Opera gemeldet -> :ass2:

Sagt mal, ich habe derzeit in den Cookieeinstellungen 'Cookies annehmen' auf 'Nur für diese Sitzung' stehen.. Gibt es eine Möglichkeit, einzelne Seiten davon auszunehmen, so dass deren Cookies erhalten bleiben?
Wenn Du auf das kleine (Vorhänge)Schloss in der Adresszeile klickst kannst Du per-site Cookies erlauben/blocken.

Bin mir nicht sicher ob das das ist was Du suchst, aber hinter der Option könnte sich eine Art Workaround verbergen indem Du die generelle Einstellung auf "Blockieren" stellst und dann eben ein paar Ausnahmen zulässt.
